Someone like Sampaoli? Small chance it would have worked, far bigger chance it would have been a disaster then the knives would have been properly out for EM in sacking a hugely popular manager without giving him a chance.
EM made a brave but correct decision.

They would certainly have told him every game had he appointed Benitez.

Don't you think that fans don't appreciate what Marinakis has done for this club. He has been more than generous and a great benefactor and undoubtably the club would  have gone done the toilet without him. im not thinking the Marinakis out crowd would be taken to seriously if in fact it exists at all.

Same level of player- come off it! Villa also struggled to stay up first season too and won 4/6 of their last games to do it.

I thought that, put Martinez, Mings, Douglas Luiz  Buendia, possibly McGinn Ramsey and Watkins in our current side and it's tonnes better. Obviously I'd add Matty Cash to that. But all the others started yesterday v Brentford.  

To think our current available players are same level is bordering on delusional. Not one of our current Midfield gets in their team. The Villa manager is good but unless he can fix injuries overnight I certainly don't see how we'd be safe by now.

Sorry that was clumsy language by me. What I meant is that none of us want to go back to the days of protests against the owner. We have had that before and it’s downright embarrassing and depressing.

Would it happen? It would have done I reckon had Hughton taken us down to L1.
Florida, yes I know what you mean people appreciate the investment Marinakis has made but we live in an entitled generation ( getting philosophical now), fans demand winning and instant gratification. FFS Liverpool fan saying I quote “ we have the worst owners in football” after they ruled out a bid for Bellingham.

My point is Marinakis keeping the fanbase onside is important.
Does he care what we think Sniffer? No idea but I do know he cares what Olympiacos fans (Gate 7 ) think. That in my opinion is a sign of a good owner and one who cares.

My original point which sparked this debate is that I believe EM now regrets not changing coach after losing at Leicester, it's not so much about the present.

Sad to say that it currently looks like Steve is taken us down realistically speaking, although it's far from over but current form etc suggests that the tide is against us.

Would a different coach after Leicester have kept us up and have us safe now? The truth is that we will never know the answer to that question, we can only guess and assume what might have been and who it might have been.

Leicester lost 3 games in a row after sacking Rodgers before a scrappy win vs Wolves. How is that working?

Palace beat the bottom three up, which they would likely have done with Viera too.

Everton are in the same position as when Dyche took over and that's replacing Lampard, who's not exactly the highest rated manager 

Leeds, Wolves, Southampton also are the same or worse than before the changed manager.

Don't forget Chelsea and Spurs too looking terrible. Very selective comments.
