For me Emery's performance just shows how badly Gerrard was doing with Villa rather than anything to do with us.

You've picked out Emery with a much better team, ignoring Wolves, Leeds, Leicester, Southampton, Everton, Chelsea. All changed managers and are in a similar or worse position than where they were before the change.

This is it, if he sacked Cooper and then we were terrible, who do you think the manager out brigade are going to turn on. He made the right choice and initially it paid off as we got as high as 13th.

For all emery has been good - and he has averaged 2+ points a game over quite a long period - Gerrard was awful. He was completely out of his depth and would hate to see him at Forest in any capacity - let alone replace cooper. Good player but really poor manager.

The biggest mistake this season in hindsight was not insisting that Cooper take on an experienced assistant to help him. That should have been a prerequisite for signing his contract.

The above pro coops arguments only work if you still believe that coops is better than Gerrard, Lampard etc. I'd actually say there might be more similarities than we'd like to admit.... probably all good man mangers, good with youth players but probably not very strong tactically and all in need of a really top coaching setup.

Ultimately we'll never know but I'd have probably opted to make a change after wet spam to be honest.

It's been obvious for sometime this season that a top quality backroom staff behind SC was essential preferably with PL experience. Reidy although a good player on his day is still learning the ropes as a coach and I just do not see what Tate brings to the table. There has been no guidance or word in the ear for SC from these guys that he probably is already aware of and to replace his mate Tate would have meant that he would have left the club as a matter of principle.
