Get Taiwo back in on that left side, be a bit braver, pick your best players and strongest team and go for it.
Thats the spirit! 100% agreed
Based on the radio interviews sounds like Dennis was partly subbed because he didn't square it for MGW. So I'd imagine Taiwo starts in front Dennis.
Otherwise happy with that team. Danilo was a surprise bonus and got Kouyate to bring back too.
Very interesting that. Dennis had a very eye catching game and mostly worked hard (aside from one stroll back, but tbf was blowing out his ar$e at that point), He looked dangerous throughout......yet created the square root of not much. In fact the breaks he butchered showed a huge lack of awareness. He doesn't appear to have any faith in his left foot either.
I saw an interesting comparison to Franz Carr. In terms of wasteful final product there are certainly some similarities but Franz was quicker, 2 footed and probably got it wrong 50% of the time, usually through lack of application rather than poor decision making (those overhit/underhit crosses). If Dennis made the right decision 50% of the time yesterday on those breaks then we have at least one more golden chance.
He is SO close to being a really really good player, I hope we persevere. 3 from Jonno, Taiwo, Dennis and MGW .

If all stay fit surely Taiwo is getting in for the remainder of the season. Although not sure he's really much better, offers some strength up top for the harder games at least.
I think the Wood/Dennis thing Cooper probably did get wrong. Dennis fits the system we designed post World Cup so much better than Wood did. For a start it means there's cover for his lack of tracking back! When Taiwo went down Dennis should've come straight in. I guess he was pretty out of favour at that point but it feels like it would've worked.
At least he offers some slight pace off the bench going forward or if Jonno succumbs to injury again (or Taiwo)
Thought the balance of the team was good yesterday in terms of formation and midfield. Be interesting to see how he goes vs Leeds and whether Kouyate comes in for one of them. Also, if Yates can return at some point.

Heard the big fella wasn't happy with the subs yesterday and asked a question after the match.

i heard he spoke with some of the players after the game. No doubt a few choice words were included.

He has a right to, and can’t help feeling this doesn’t end well either for the club or for SC.
Is it the right time to mention what you alluded to yesterday SD?

Can you remind me what it was about?

It was in the Wolves match thread preview from Friday -
Sniffer Dog (Admin)I can't talk about this now with such a massive match just hours away.
All focus needs to be on getting the 3

Unless it just meant you didn’t want to get into debate as it took away from focusing on the match

I was referring to not wanting to enter into a Cooper debate so close to such an important match.
The other thing was I heard second hand that Steve's mate who he had at Swansea and who he signed after the transfer window closed was causing a few problems.

I'd be surprised if he's still here after Leeds if we do not win the game

I get this is modern football but it annoys me as its so pointless. Football clubs are spending so much money on so much and yet noone is looking at this epidemic of sacking managers. What is the point? Some of those will have made sense but the majority will have at best a short term improvement. Very few to none will have a positive long term impact.
I can probably think of one in about 10 years of bottom half teams changing manager and having a long term positive impact. Maybe you stay up (could've stayed up anyway) but then the following year you have the same issues and change again.
It just surprises me clubs are using analytics more to see the pointlessness of it all.
