Sean Dyche (puts tin hat on).
Probably right mate. And if we'd sacked Cooper and got him in it might have seen us over the line but you can't deny the injuries we've had would have hampered any manager.
I'm really hurting with our demise at the moment. Now is the time after this International break for Cooper to step up and show us what he's all about and prove the football world/pundits that "30 signings, giving a f**k Nottingham Forest are staying up."
We'll have nearly a fully fit squad after the break it's time to stand up and be counted, us fans are doing our bit on the terraces.
I'd argue its on the players to show they are able to stay up. Cooper can only do so much. He did everything to that was asked of him this week and we still got battered.
Also, you're all talking as if we didn't battle. We only lost due to a last minute penalty, Everton. Leeds and Saints were all battered too. We were not good of course but I don't think it's fair to say we didn't battle well.
Didn't battle?
Sorry may not have been you that said that.

Except we wouldn’t have gone for Dyche would we?
EM would have chosen Benitez or from what you were saying Laurent Blanc. I dont for a second believe either of those would have worked out.
As for Dyche, whatever way you want to spin it Everton have a more experienced and more expensively assembled squad than we do.
I choose Cooper thanks.

Benitez was never happening and Blanc was just a name mentioned so lets have a bit of perspective.
Anyway we were talking about Everton.
You choose Cooper which is fine.
I choose staying up. My club is Nottingham Forest it's not Steve Cooper.
Hope Steve can turn it around though.

As much as I admire Dyche, looking at the way Everton played last night I just can't see how he could have got us playing in 'his' way. They have a big physical cb who is deadly at set plays and and an athletic midfield who run and run.

It's called coaching Pap.

We all hope he can because does anybody think there is somebody out there who is going to do any better with the squad we have available. Sticking with Cooper is our only viable option in this fight against relegation. Sack him and New York stadium will be a certainty next season, contingent upon Rotherham staying in the championship.

Sorry Sniffer I took this from another forum but I think it sums up the footballing side of the club (1st team) so well.
Like all of my friends, I am always wary of posting or contributing on this site. We usually just wander down the topics, all this because anyone who might venture a different opinion or would like to start a discussion often gets shot down.
But what the heck.
Our style of play and tactics are embarrassing. Every game approached as if we were a lower league team in a cup game. No, not even that's true, Grimsby will have far more of a go at Brighton than we ever would have.
We al know and realise that there is a gulf in class between some teams, but between us and West Ham? We can put out a team of internationals, but still rarely engage on the front foot. It sort of used to be fun when fans of other teams said you are crap, but to paraphrase James Blunt, the retort could be, yes the crap team with 3 points. But it's just pathetic now, to watch everyone in the division look capable of playing some football.
The only fun thing about this season has been the positivity of the fans and atmosphere. As a fan since 1967 this has never been replicated before and is the envy of all real football fans.
So what was this post about? Probably just a need to get something off my chest. But do fellow reds think that we can stay up like this?
And before anyone says it, I 100% don't want Cooper sacked, I love the bloke, but the lack of Premier league experience across the club as a whole will probably cost us.

I think our squad should be doing better and I think our coaching staff should be doing better.
I am not suggesting that someone should be sacked.
I am asking for more from all the player's and all the coaching staff.

No, we cant sack him now. There was an argument for replacing him with Dyche after Leicester away, but nows not the time, definitely not.

Agree Lolley. Not about the forum but about the way we set up. We have players and can play when we want to but there's a mental block or some other factor preventing this.

Yep, weve got to stay positive. Its difficult though when we're in the slide and others are getting results. How its turned. Out success after the wc was getting managers sacked.
