The government's preference I feel is for us to be cashless to avoid the non payment of tax, nothing more sinister than that imo.

I suppose in terms of the club shop, the cost of handling, banking and provision of cash tills probably outweighs the cost of card charges now on a pound for pound basis. But they probably just want to avoid queues at the tills on match days.

Every time you make a payment with your card or phone it is recorded so they know how much you spent, where you spent it and at exactly what time so if you want to know where you were on 25th April 2020 just ask the authorities and they will tell you! If that is not being controlled then what is it?

It is controlling because it is taking away peoples right to choose how they prefer to pay for things. It is saying to people, you can no longer have the choice to spend cash. You must use electronic options only.

I wonder what the club will do if there is ever an electricity outage or the internet goes down?

If it a cashless society, they will then bring in Digital currency.
Then watch them control you, once you have had your monthly quota of fuel or what ever you want to buy, if it doesn't match the governments criteria to meet Net Zero and your carbon footprint, you will be restricted, cash is King, use it or lose it!

Imagine all the kids being given some money for Christmas. 'Happy Christmas son here is 100 quid but you can't spend it in the Forest shop'.

Many do especially the under 16's and although I used an example of youngsters what about many older people who still like to use cash.

Yep, when a bank or company like Paypal decide a vendor isn't appropriate anymore, for whatever reason, they can be cut off.
