Currently residing at Ibrox I believe. Barely playing due to injury. Hopefully will be fit for an old firm game and receive a proper welcome.

Sorry, been really busy and hungover and WiFi is a bit patchy away from apartment. USA game was bizarre- like watching walking football. Poor touches all over the pitch, two chuckle brothers at the back doing there own thing (to you to me to you etc) zero movement until subs came on, just one of those days. Also, it was boiling hot in the stadium. I went to opening ceremony there and it was really cold due to air con that day. At least I was hammered as prematch went on forever due to 10pm ko her got back around 3am! The Qatari people are unreal, numerous times people go to pay a bill in a restaurant and a local has already done it. Similarly they invite groups of supporters into there homes to show us there culture and give you food and drink. I'm trying to dig deeper and met an English guy who runs a construction company who helped build stadiums, he genuinely can not see where the 6500 figure has come from re dead workers. I spoke to a guy from Somalia who worked on the Lusail stadium team as a normal site worker and when I asked him about it, he laughed and said "ah English papers". There are only around 300k proper Qatari people, everyone else are overseas workers. These people all work in the petroleum industry. One Qatari guy I spoke to was an engineer off shore, doing one week on and one week off. Although he does a "normal" job he was clearly minted and had been educated in an English University (albeit Bradford), so I pressed him about it. Qatari nationals do not have to pay tax!!! Also their gas electricity and water is all free. They get free health care and education. Plus the Govt pay all their fees to go to University in England and give them a salary whilst studying. Then the Govt gives them a 2000m square area of land to build a house on for a nominal mortgage (around £250 a month). No council tax of course. It blew my mind. It is almost impossible to get a Qatari passport unless you are born into a Qatari family. The rest of the population is made up of ex pats or immigrants working here. The English expats I've met love it here and have no intention of returning to UK anytime soon as its unbelievably safe for their kids and they earn far more here with much lower cost of living. They are hugely embarrassed by the bullsh1t in the English media. What's interesting - getting a bit deep here- is that for many years we football fans were vilified by the the media with their bullsh1t yet now at a World Cup, many supporters at home are happy to believe the same journalists peddling their bullsh1t. It's the power of the media I suppose. Just look at Matt Hancock- the guy literally showed himself to have zero integrity yet he is allowed to appear on TV reality show and I understand has not been voted out yet!!! I mean WTF. Back to The World Cup: Shame Jonno and Co look to be leaving early but if you play like that against Iran you deserve to go home. Welsh fans won't be missed tbh, great in the grounds, but bolshy and can be heard muttering "f@(King English" whenever you bump into them. It really is a festival of football, where else can you be woken up by Cameroon fans playing their drums outside your hotel and by Brazil fans singing and dancing another? Weather is stunning, managed a beach day the other day, ended up playing keepy ups in a group of about 10 different nationalities. Looking forward to Wsles game, though they will be seriously motivated to try and beat us. Hopefully be alot better than USA game. Enjoy the football.
