I don't think Frueler and O'Brien are the same type of player so you can't compare them.
One also has 48 international caps, played at Nations Cup Finals, Euro Cup Finals and will be at World Cup Finals next month, the other hasn't.
Freuler and Obrien are different I agree
Freuler and Colback. One has international caps etc the other has 200 PL appearances. Both can complete a 5 yard sideways pass. Same same.

6 years ago vs 200 Serie A up until May 2022 and Captain plus see above.
I don't think Colback and Frueler are the same type of player either, one is a ball winner, the other a playmaker.

I guess the difference is Freuler has the potential to be the guy that earned 48 international caps for a solid side whereas Colback does not. I've seen nothing to believe that Freuler is going to step up however based on his CV I would do the same as Steve, ride it out and hope it clicks at some point for him. I'd even consider the same logic with Lingard. given the alternatives although not sure it was worth it last night.

I'll admit to having some level of doubt about him.... but last 2 matches he's been brilliant! Today he even looked like the goal scoring cm from last year might return too....
More than a bit of Jordan Henderson about him.... in a good way.

I reckon if we go down we're going to have some prem clubs wanting to take him. He's a model pro off the pitch and now looks like he can not only hold his own on the pitch but influence results.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's interest from high up the league whether we stay up or go down
