Why yawn?
Genuinely one of the most interesting articles I have read about Forest.

Very in depth and objective, nothing particularly negative and plenty of positives although tells of a few continuing disagreements. Lets just say EM comes over as a fascinating and complex character.

It was fairly balanced to be fair although the longer it went on the more critical it became.

The biggest take out of the story is that Dane is suing the club for a promotion bonus he was promised but hasnt received. So the ceo and owner are basically at war.

It’s a long old read.

Doesn’t paint the best picture of stability within the club, although has clearly been written with some sort of an agenda.

Would maybe be a good time for some positive noises and statements from key individuals at the club IMHO.

Where is the agenda?
It talks of a few problems behind the scenes like there are at most clubs and indeed pretty well every major business in the world. Definitely one or two issues that need resolving and the the Murphy contract issue seems odd to say the least. He isnt suing the club though just “taking legal advice”.

Overall the point of the article is to paint a detailed picture of a colourful but hugely determined and successful family, I dont see whats wrong with that.

It's a beast of a read, I feel like I need to re-read it a few times to fully take it in.

My immediate takeaway was the confirmation of the change in direction of the transfer strategy and how that appears to have backfired.

Was the appointment of the new Sporting Director to reign in Miltos or perhaps help mentor him? He's a pretty young guy with no experience to be taking that level of responsibility in such a high profile situation.

It felt a little like the standard DT long read, if you don't agree with DT you will disregard it, if you hang off every word he says you will likely take a negative view based on the article. If you're somewhere in the middle you're just left confused, concerned but also impressed/respectful of both EM's philanthropic nature and the impression I get of a man who's willing to make difficult changes and perhaps learn from previous mistakes despite how humbling they may be.

So who knows, it's never dull anyway!

100% agree, it's a fascinating read. Very balanced IMO and very well written and researched.

Also, to be commenting. Greek politics sounds crazy! Makes our look pretty tame!

This is my take on it. Whether you are pro everything Marinakis or have some doubts its still pretty clear there were disagreements over the summer over strategy. Like I said thats hardly a shock and literally every business or organisation has similar issues, just in the football world they become fairly public.

Therefore we need one person to take charge and make sure there is a consistent plan that is adhered to, so some dont get over excited running off on different directions. I hope Giraldi can do this effectively, I would prefer him to keep to the plan of developing youth although Im not sure his record at Watford suggests he will.

His record at Watford will be based on the plan from above though and tbf they had some success with bringing in younger players to sell on. I can't remember them bringing in many older players?

He could yet be a massive appointment, a guy that has a record of being able to be the go between, between an owner and the rest of the club. I would suggest his skills.of diplomacy picked up during his time at Watford must be pretty good. I'm hopeful he can help smooth things out a bit. He's got his work cut out though!

I think this article is as explosive as it comes.

Dane taking legal action over bonus owed
Wheatley exposed as man cooper is furious with over leaks
Toxic atmosphere at club created by certain individuals over the last 5 years
Turnover of staff
Turnover of players
Marinakis junior learning on the job
Marinakis embarrassed when we were in the championship
The Noor stuff that doesn’t go away
I could go on…

It is tempered by some balance that although not conventional- it has been effective. It also highlights several humanitarian efforts that should be applauded.

Wonder what sniffs take is?

The only new thing from the above list is the Murphy contract situation which will prpbably be resolved one way or the other.
Wheatley I was told about a while back and didnt want to name him, messaged Sniff with the info, hints he is on the way out now.
The rest is old news. So we have some disagreements on strategy, hopefully exactly the reason Giradi has been brought in and the fact Cooper signed his contract a few days later shows he agreed that was necessary.
