Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 19-05-2018

It's been one year since the takeover. I would like to give Mr. Marinakis a big pat on the back. I have been nothing but impressed with everything that the new owners have done so far. Getting 5,000 bums back on seats has been a phenominal achievement, the business conducted by Giannis Vrentzos in the January transfer window was also very impressive stuff. With talk of a new Main Stand to start in 2019 it appears that these new owners really mean business. It's easy to forget that before they arrived the club was absolutely on it's knees and not fit for purpose. Keep up the good work fellas.

Can't argue with that, does anybody think we would be in the same position or better if the Americans had taken over?

I don't think we would be Joe. I was always suspicious of them, I am glad it fell through and Marinakis came along.

I can understand why you are being cautious Malta, I really can, but I have no doubt in my mind that these owners will deliver. I didn't know anything about Fawaz when he took over but I do know a bit about these guys we have in charge now and I have total faith in them.

its a big season for the club. I hope they can deliver.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Greek Empire - 22-05-2018

In my opinion the owners could not have done more in a small space of time.
Remember the mess in the club when they first came? It was 1 breath from being dead.

That's true and it's so easily forgotten. We've made huge strides off the pitch in just 12 months. Now it's time to make some huge strides on the pitch.

I am sure that Marinakis and Vrentzos will deliver.
The question is, can Karanka deliver?
I hope he can and I think he will.

I think the off the field work has been most impressive.  ...and it's surely a matter of time before we see the fruits of that on the field.

Signing Karanka was a sign of intention to me on the field.  The January window augured well for the Summer window.  (Mouth watering?)  Ruthless yet ambitious.

Forest needed a shake from top to bottom.

Going from Basketcase to professionally run was a footballing 'Heineken' moment.

SA.

PS.  The rumblings of Taylor stand getting work in 2019 puts a smile on the face.  Get in there!  'Bout time the ground had some significant redevelopment.

Forest were a in a big mess off the field.

The new owners were transformative.  I remember that 'Not fit for purpose' letter on the Forest website.

It said what everybody had been thinking for a long time.

It signalled a breath of fresh air and a steely new direction.

SA.

Well said Stawberry, good posts. Welcome.

There are no alarm bells ringing which we had that from Day 1 under Fawaz. So far so good but remains to be seen if they are truly invested in Forest.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co. - Brucey - 02-06-2018

I'm impressed so far - like the fact that we don't hear from him - and with the off field structure in place looks like we could be going somewhere at last.

Marinakis hasn't bought us to own a championship club that much is clear to everyone. We'll see where we are come the start of the season player-wise and whether we've recruited the necessary firepower to then be among the contenders, but I'm more optimistic than in a long time

PS hello by the way!
