With Cooper's standing in the game (coach, fa etc..) I do wonder if the Greeks are reluctant to get rid unless it's on their terms (i.e receive compo)
They are reluctant to get rid because they really want him to succeed and to turn the situation around. EM likes Cooper and he likes him a lot. If the rot continues and EM ends up having to sack him he won't take any pleasure in it at all. EM has the upmost respect For Cooper make no mistake about that. EM is not getting any sick pleasure from this he is hurting and hurting a lot. He would like nothing more then for Steve Cooper to turn things around. Massive massive game on Monday.

I don’t doubt that EM really likes Cooper and he knows Cooper delivered the dream. In fairness if it was my £170m on the line Im not sure if I would stick or twist. Would still prefer Cooper to sign the new contract and give him this season and at least the first half of next, it thats in the Championship so be it, and see if he can repeat the trick.
What I worry about is EM chucking away the whole structure that got us here and going back to the old ways of short termism and chucking mud at a wall. It was expensive enough doing that in the Championship, a whole different level now.

Forest are still prepared to undertake drastic action behind the scenes, with chief executive Dane Murphy and the recruitment team in the firing line.
In another development, Watford’s former technical director Filippo Giraldi is in negotiations over taking a similar role at Forest.
Giraldi was a key figure at Watford under owner Gino Pozzo but departed the club shortly after their relegation in the 2019/20 campaign.
He has vast experience of the Premier League and will be appointed by Forest as Marinakis looks to improve the infrastructure and evaluate the sporting side of the business.
Giraldi was also responsible for shrewd signings at Watford including Richarlison, Abdoulaye Doucouré, Joao Pedro and Étienne Capoue.
Murphy, the former Barnsley chief executive, is expected to leave this month with his position believed to have been under threat for some time.
It is understood there is frustration at the City Ground over suggestions that Murphy was pivotal in last year’s appointment of Cooper, who inherited a team bottom of the Championship and then steered them to promotion.
Lee Charnley, the former Newcastle managing director, is in line to replace Murphy.
George Syrianos, the head of recruitment, and head of scouting Andy Scott are also facing uncertain futures following Forest’s £150 million spend, where 22 new players arrived.
All I will say gentlemen is "be careful what you wish for".

I hope he can start repaying this faith pretty sharpish now. If we go down we go down, that's not unexpected. We *have* to get more than 11 points though.

Well, this raises more questions that it provides answers!
3 year extension, rather than the 1 year deal we knew had been offered. What that the simpliest of issues preventing the deal? Or did Cooper refuse to sign until he had help from a sporting director? Or has this mystery person who Cooper wanted out now gone?
Let's hope this is the shot in the arm the whole club needs to move on. After the critisim from the media this week about Cooper's imminent dismissal, lets see some plaudits now.
It sounds like gamble to me but if changes our season for the better then it might go down in Forest history as a masterstroke.
