Leicester City - Nottingham Forest
I can see us doing a Sunderland.

Back line is too slow so we sign three quick centre backs
One is injured but the other two don’t even make the bench.
Why?
Surely they couldn’t be any worse?

Do you think that's why we lost though? The lack of central midfielders in first half was painful.

In part
The back line drops too deep so the central midfield are obliged to do the same and that allows opposition midfielders to play between the lines and press us in the back third.
But I agree it’s not the midfield I’d have started with.

Yeah fair point, there was such a big gap between the midfielders and the centre backs in that first half. Just constantly carved us apart.

I'd put it more on the CMs from what I saw personally but I'm sure you're right and the CBs are at fault too.

Thought not

Whatever DR. Three quarters of the teams in the league would have taken him had they been able to afford him. He looked a good signing at the time but he's just not committed to us for some reason.  Its his fault it's not worked out, not the club's.
Ffs pap I never said it was the club’s fault.
I let out a little bit of wee like everyone else when he signed.
But the fact is he looks like he just doesn’t care and hasn’t done since I saw him at Newcastle.
The blame is entirely at his door on this.

Sorry mate, I'm majorly pissed off here. I agree with your point. Its like he's given up on his game. No mental desire there any more. Hes a shadow of a former good player.

I’m pissed off too mate
I just don’t get it
He should have been a real catalyst and I bet cooper is utterly pissed off
(I saw him sticking up for Lingard in the press this week and thought it was a final psychological play on his part. It didn’t work and I think Lingard is shot).

And he still has his f*****g man boobs 8 weeks in…

Lingard is an easy target.
But crap tonight

Cooper has f****d up with Gibbs White for so much money, he's trying to make him fit but he isn't up to it. It's leaving our team selections disjointed.

Awoniyi scores that early chance and Leicester collapse.

First goal, massive deflection, second and third great strikes, bit unlucky.

Ermmm, Maddison is really good, why isn't he in the England squad?

I'm out of options to defend.

To survive in this league you need a clinical striker who can take chances. Awoniyi isnt one

Totally agree.
It’s on record here somewhere- I said he was technically deficient when we first signed him and I could tell just from his you tube highlights.

I did a bit of scouting for pro clubs many years ago and submitted reports to Boro on hasselbaink as part of their DD when they signed him.
God knows he had his faults and wasn’t a complete polished player but awoniyi is miles away from that atm.
But anyone can see he’s struggling it’s not rocket science.
I’d start Dennis and surridge next game

Surely Surridge has to start the next game

Look, I like Sam, but if he is our best striking option, and he may well be, then just accept we will be back in the Championship next season.

Fuming. Firstly with the gutless 1st half performance, but also with the dirty Leicester scum who started trouble, 20 lads attacking 2 Forest fans in car park by "Local hero" pub. Daughter got it on video and posted on twitter. Leicestershire police seem to have been taking lessons off South Yorkshire on how not to police a football match.

They literally allowed 100 of their plastic chair throwing brigade to antagonise Forest fans queueing to get in.

Then as we left at end we were greeted by swathes of knuckle dragging scum.

Leicester truly is a sh1thole, like stepping back into 1980s in so many ways.

We may have been crap, but at least we don't have to live in Leicester.

Congratulations Leicester, I now actually hate your club 4th only to Sheep, Scousers and Sheff Utd. Finally you are slightly relevant.

I accepted that after the horror shows against Fulham and Bournemouth

Positives
- Our supporters at the game were incredible again.
- Yates and Mangala together seems to shore things up.
- I don't have to visit that hole again until at least next season.
- New RB looks like an upgrade , based on only 45 minutes though.

Negatives
- Leicester support base has way more than their fair share of cowardly scum.
- Key individual errors yet again cost us.
- MF which was meant to protect defence actually managed to expose them even more against a crap team.
- When we concede 1, we collapse like a pack of cards.
- Getting more and more worried about Hendo and long shots, albeit being unmarked helps.
- Who knew Maddison was their key attacking player? Clearly not our midfield first half who gave him more space than the millennium falcon gets through.
- At 0-0 getting battered, but then miss key chance. Imagine Leicester players mentality if they go behind?
- Our best manager in 23 years seems to either not know his best side or be under pressure to pick certain players.
- Turns out the players who "should be starting" are no better than the rest. Freuler was pretty woeful again. Dennis is not looking all that (accept he has only played bits and pieces so far)
- Team spirit looks shot to bits the way they were arguing and blaming each other.
- Turns out Cloughie was spot on-even in modern game Alot of crap is spoken about tactics, players win (and lose) you games first and foremost not tactics.

It's starting to feel like we are one of those teams who go into a different league but are put in too high a division  so every week becomes an inevitable slog against superior opposition. We know it and the opposition come into games knowing it. I hope this analogy is wrong and we suddenly click against Villa and Cooper does a Cooper as we fly up the league.

Not looking forward to the nightmare trip down to Brighton who are doing a passable impression of Man City without Haaland.
