Nottingham Forest - Bournemouth
Think some may be overthinking what is going wrong.
The main bit of it is that we have just landed in the toughest league in the world with a brand new squad which even if it has some potential on paper still looks one of the weakest compared to others. Surprise surprise we are finding it tough.

There may well be some underlying tensions, there probably were last year but we were winning games so it was all overlooked. Throw in a bit of self inflicted stuff, loads of new signings, bigger egos and wage packets some of whom aren’t getting game time and suddenly it all looks like a house of cards.

Copper had no other distractions last year, no transfer windows to deal with, just work with what he had build a team and produce results. He needs to now get back to what he does best.

Brennan is literally playing the same position that he played the entirety of last season. He's also played in the same role for Wales but you know better than both of them right?

He has also been completely ineffective in that position.....a complete passenger.

Thats what managers do......if someone is not performing in games, you replace them and change things up.

How many shots on target ?

We are completely useless up front currently.  The commentators on Saturday were saying how useless we are in the final third, no striker, barely any shots on target........playing the ball around the box and then losing it or putting in some useless cross.

Something has to change, or we will lose to Leeds and Fulham and Cooper will be out of a job.

Its all up to Cooper now, for me. he has to win the next two games, or at least draw them.  Two more losses and I think he will be sacked.

We're playing two strikers, how many shots did MGW? Why is Brennan the scapegoat?

Yes agree he didn't have a great game Saturday (but who else did?!) He was excellent vs Spurs and Everton though.

How many shots has MGW had playing the same position? At least Brennan is getting into the right areas, I would argue the bigger issue is that MGW is not getting into the right positions to support him as the left striker.

Depends which way you look at it I suppose.

Are we playing 2 strikers or are we playing 3 number 10's?
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

3 times 10 by the looks of it.

There is no striker at all........................ which shows.......as we are having nearly 0 shots on target per game from open play.

He was for a few games last year too. There were others where he barely saw the ball until deep into the 2nd half when he broke free of a tiring defence to set up or slot in a winning goal.

He wont get so many opportunities this year so yes he needs to show more. But you want to play 11 workhorses in the PL? We would get relegated 100% Fact remains he Johnson is a match winner and thats what we need to survive.

Again, I would say thats Coopers problem.

He is trying to find a way to keep Johnson and MGW and Lingard in the team..........whereas he should be looking how to score and win games.

As clear as day we should have been 4-4-2 against city.........Dennis and Awoniyi up front to provide an outlet for long ball clearances from defence.

Yates, Freuler, Kouyate and MGW across the middle. Yates and Kouyate deep with Freuler playmaking and MGW supporting attack when possible.

The team Cooper played was pathetic. It was destined to get thumped.

If we'd won convincingly at the weekend, whilst we might have a few questions about the team and the subs, I doubt we'd be having any of these discussions about behind-the-scenes unrest.

But we did lose. And to the type of team we have to beat to stay up.

What surprised me is last season Cooper knew how to change a team mid-match if things weren't working. Barnsley away & D*rby at home stand out for me. If the formation wasn't working, more often than not, it was changed. He changed the formation against D&rby after about 20 mins and it shifted the match in our favour.

I guess he's still figuring out this new squad, but anyone could see it wasn't working on Sat & after they scored their first, there was only one team in it.

I think it's a huge positive we have some extra time and don't play again until Monday. A week of analysis, training, maybe even some tough, frank conversations, and hopefully we're ready to go against Leeds. But what we're doing isn't working (shipping goals, defensive mistakes from the back 3, no striker, barely any chances from open play) and it's on Cooper to make it work.

Right now, I'm very worried but hopeful Cooper can get this right.

This I think is the issue and is so different to how we set up last year. It does feel like Cooper is just trying to shoehorn MGW Lingard and Johnson into the same starting line up.
Ive given a defence of Johnson above but that doesnt mean he should start every game. Currently I reckon the one that needs dropping is Lingard.

Jonno - 2 goals very nearly 3 but for a tight VaR call. Least of our worries in my opinion. Lingard Awoni Dennis and MGW - 1 goal and 1 assist between them…

Different league now..........I think he will be more effective in a lot games coming off the bench........not a starter in most games, but a finisher.

Thats why everyone has an opinion, and they will all be different.

As the saying goes.......opinions are like assholes and nobody wants to see anyone elses...
