More attacking LWB.........we have that in Richards and all being well Lodl now.

Someone to run at them - MGW tried, but a game like that against a solid defence like that.......needs someone like Davies who we dont have now.

Pace at the back...........we need a pacey CB.  Says it all when McKenna is the fastest........

Good performance.  We seemed to lose our attacking ability when Lingard came off.  We will get there.......time and patience needed and by Christmas we will be very hard to beat, home and away.

Too many stray passes as well, something we have to stop. Too much aimless long balls........we dont have Davies and Awoniyi was on then bench, so no idea why they are hitting long balls to a small MGW............poor decisions.

My thoughts exactly ^^

I agree on all those points.

I still remain to be convinced about Lingard.
I’ve not seen every minute of every game but in the 4 matches so far I can’t recall him running at, and beating, a single defender.
He does allow Brennan and MGW to do some of that but it’s not enough to be in there just to pass. Especially when many of those stray passes yesterday were his.

I thought Lingard was better yesterday and that was his best game so far but he needs to carry on improving.

Team News.........

Just realised that team yesterday was an all British starting eleven.

When did that last happen in the PL?

The last time was May 2011 (Blackpool)

I suppose on reflection I should moderate my views of the lad; they say form is temporary but class is permanent so let’s hope he can settle in and improve his fitness.
If we get Aouar in then he’ll need to be on it, for sure.

On reflection yesterday watching the game live you miss thing so after watching the Highlights on MOD2 this morning we were brilliant but Spurs Clinical, cook got out done for pace by Kane who is not the quickest cook is too slow and toff was in no mans land and offered no cover for first goal , 2nd goal awful defending all round Freuler pushed off ball to easy will need to adapt to PL quickly and shocking marking they all just left Kane free Toff or Kouyate need to pick him up .
Niakhate , Mangala and Lodi all start when available and the team only looks stronger.
Wozza and Mckenna was Outstanding and are coming to grips with the PL . After 4 games and probably only 1/2 weeks with this new group of players SC had is playing some really good stuff .
Another CB with pace and a No 9 with good movement and Clinical finishing (Ramos ) and we have the makings of a top half team .
Extremely impressed yesterday and the CG goes up a level each week , Next Saturday starts a set of fixtures where this team could really start to push on .

Not wanting an argument DR but I think you've got Lingard's performance yesterday wrong. For the first time this season we saw what he might be about, picking up the ball and Brennan and MGW running off him to create passing opportunities. He might not be entirely what we thought we were getting yet, but he's improved significantly. Probably due to fitness improving and MGW buzzing about around him.

And come on, who hasnt got the odd man boob? Lets not castigate him for that.

I think we're fine personally, the only major possible issue I see is whether MGW, lingard and Brennan as a front three can score enough goals or whether it would be better having Brennan and MGW playing off a more traditional centre forward. That's the debate they should be having right now.

The thing that didn't work yesterday was Brennan kept getting into great spots as a wide forward but noone was gambling into the 6 yard box. Either Brennan needs to stay more central and be that player or someone else needs to fill that role. Be interesting to see how Cooper figures it out

I agree Pap. I thought that was Lingard's best game for us so far.

Atmosphere at the CG is the best its ever been, loving it, we need to keep it that way.
Passing play and movement of the front 3 was a joy to watch
Controlled large parts of the game, won back countless balls in midfield
Gibbs White is quality
So is Henderson
Brennan clearing out Richarlison
We are a work in progress and are looking better each game

Negatives
Lack of killer touch and never a created clear cut chance
Set pieces poor again, we dont really have someone to take them (Scarpa?)
Pace of the back 3 overall (not just digging out Cook) Not impressed with Kouyate’s brief appearance
Again opposition created more chances.
Our front 3 all a bit samey, no-one to change things up?

Saved me a job.

Would add we outplayed a top 4 side for long periods. Before game pundits saying 3 5 or even 5-0.

Both goals had huge slices of luck. Cooks tackle deflected off LOB.
2nd goal was clearly a foul on touchline.

Amazed Spuz were so negative with the quality they have.

Gutted I got a prediction right
