Most encouraging thing for me was that, despite them finishing 7th last season, there was little between the sides. Yeah we rode our luck a bit but we'll also play better than that and have got at least five more players (counting Yates and Colback) to come into that squad.

Yep, nerves, self doubt, uncertainty will have pegged us back today. The more we play, the more confident and composed we'll become.

Watching that game today felt almost as nervy as watching the Playoff Final. So important to get that first win, goal and clean sheet. A few defeats on the trot and the negativity would've kicked in. Would be fantastic to get a first away win against Everton next match because the two games after that will be the *real* reality checks.

Thought Brennan really came into it second half, quality finish for the disallowed goal. Think he'll be a star in this team (Assuming he keeps his place)

Special mention for the fantastic first half by the Toff, made some superb blocks.

You can see why we need more players just looking at the bench which is clearly being rectified. Looking forward to the end of the window so we can settle things down.

His game plan needs adjusting, he can't take the opposition on for pace, especially without Spence.
I thought he was better in the 2nd.

What a day and what an atmosphere. The spirit of last season is most certainly still present. Cooper is the special one.

When thus squad is complete I am quietly confident we'll pick up enough points at home with the help of us fans keeping them going.

Just got home and watched the game. Completely different from the Newcastle match. I thought we competed in every area of the pitch and we gave as good as we got. West Ham are a settled premiership team and I didn’t think we looked out of place at all. Bench was a bit lightweight but soon to be rectified when the new signings come in. Well done, brill.
