As it stands the City Ground is not fit for purpose. Even more so if we get promoted. If we can’t get planning permission for these changes surely the club must think seriously about a site in the City for a new stadium. Promotion would make this an even more necessary.

Although the City Ground is far from being the best stadium around it is far better than a number of current premier league clubs,
watford, burnley, palace, norwich and everton spring to mind and also fulham and bournemouth if they go up.

Season ticket renewals out for next season. Implies there's no plans to get working on this stand next season you'd think?

Not sure that will be the case.

If the Taylor stand gets closed at any point during next season there will be room elsewhere in the ground to relocate the ST holders currently located in the PT Stand on a temporary basis.

The capacity of the ground, excluding the PT stand is 24300. which is more than the number of ST holders we currently have.

Yeah sure I'm not saying that can't, would be annoying though if you renewed then got moved later on and struggled to get a decent seat. I suppose overall that would still be a positive as it would mean it was on track.

Whilst I appreciate the investment of our owners and fully understand that the organisation will leak money like a sieve whilst we are in the Championship, it does feel a bit of a lost opportunity not to update the BC and TE whilst we are waiting for the new stand to come through.

Perhaps the work needed is too much to do in the middle of the season when the stadium is in use. No excuse not to do some work in the summer though.

I fully understand the work cannot be done mid season, but the planning, discussions, letting contracts etc. can be done now to allow a start as soon as the last match is concluded

What do you think the club, their developers, architects, solicitors and an army of other like minded professionals been doing for the past 2 -3 years JPS?

It is in the planning stage and this is where the hold up currently is. The club sadly have to jump through every single hoop put before them by the Planners on Rushcliffe BC, who will look at every single objection made through a microscope to see if it is a valid objection and if it is, what are the club going to do about overcoming the objections. 

It can take 2 years for a simple kitchen extension to be approved by the planning authorities, so a 10-12,000 seater stand isn't going to get approval overnight, im sorry to say

I'm not talking about the new stand, I am well aware of planning protocol's and problems associated with that, my point was that the rest of the ground ( as stated by the owners / board ) is in need of work and i cannot see why planning issues on the Peter Taylor side should stop essential safety work / improvements to the BC stand.

Agreed, there isn't any reasons why they cannot carry out any essential works to the BC stand or anywhere else around the ground.

Who said they aren't going to? They can't do it mid season. We have to wait until summer.
