I’m not gonna join the pile in on Coops.

It was obvious that he would go three at the back with the first choice full backs unavailable.

Colback was always going to be selected at left wing back ahead of Bong.

Back appears to have been his only option at right wing back, despite us having a right back at our disposal earning a sizeable wedge and being fit and available.

The midfield disappeared today. Garner, Yates and Zickernagel were largely anonymous from an attacking perspective and Johnno made a marginally greater contribution.

Not piling in on him User. I was just saying i disagreed with a few bits he did today. I would've started Back too as I can't see any player in our squad who could slot in at rb and do a job.

A bit of a test for us now over the next week. Udders will be a tough game and Barnsley a must win. 6 points from the 9 and the show's back on the road. 4 points and we've hit a bit of a road block. And less I guess our annual winter slump has arrived.

He should have gone with a 4 if he was going to play Back. If he wanted to go with a wing back he could have played Garner there, out of position I know but he is the only one available to him that could have done a job. Agree the midfield being anonymous hardly helped.

The midfield was the real issue today. They didn’t take hold of the game. They offered very little option or outlet to the back six. 

Very poor IMO.

Wilder is very canny as well and why he was my first choice - important to see however what Dane has said - we went for cooper with a 3 window strategy - we are ahead of schedule. For the first time it showed today. For all Middlesbroughs possession it could still be argued we could and perhaps should have stolen a point from our chances - silva and inch away from a very good goal - a penalty on Johnson and zinks massive miss… also their keeper lucky with a clearance that hit his own player.
Cooper very honest in his assessment but I now feel for carvalho - players need to take their chance when it comes- comment.

Things even themselves out though Oz. We've got results in games where we should've been dead and buried. We had what maybe a 15minute spell in the second half today where we looked ok.They bossed the rest of the game really.

We got what we deserved today - as cooper honestly conceded. We have some winnable games coming up - I just think it is a positive that I’m our poorest performance under cooper we still had chances to draw or even win.

Boro deserved the win today. They should have killed game off in 1st half when they were on top.

But we aren't suddenly a bad team.
There were good performances today and the fact we can change formation mid game is a a massive step up on the last few managers.

It's a funny old game, as someone used to say. They were gifted a goal and we could have made it 1-1.

Second half we did adjust and I genuinely thought we would get it back to 1-1 until the second goal.

TBH for all of Boro's slick movement they could not kill us of.

Just one of those things, we need bodies on the ground in the window and then onwards and upwards.

To be honest I can see Jenkinson retiring from football, suspect he isnt even training.  He has spent his entire career in reserves and on subs benches and seems quite happy to do so whilst earning pot fulls of money. He has apparently cost us over £6M in fees and wages, one of the worst buys in our clubs history.

Yeah.  Where games are won and lost.

But our best and most experienced CM was playing at LB/LWB.

We don't seem the same side when Colback isn't there.

Fair comment. Wilder was my 1st choice. It's ironic that Forest went for Cooper because Forest weren't a 'ready' squad to begin with. So it was appropriate that we went for Cooper. I also think Cooper may be clever enough for the Premier if he gets the right backing.

We've had to make do with 'alt' choices in the Summer for many positions and had to deal with a vast outflux of players. Wilder, by comparison, probably walked into a far more battle ready squad in Boro'. They've been play offs for two season or there about under Warnock? I can see Wilder's Boro' closing in on that 2nd auto spot.

Forest normally take their chances. Had they done so...

Today?  They didn't.  We had enough chances to trump Boro's possession.

As for Car'.  If he can't do it in a Cooper Forest side he's finished at Forest.
