Saw on a Man Utd youtube video that Garner will be recalled in January, hope not.

Yep, having lost his place in the side now if he wants to play in the middle he has to displace either Yates or Garner so left back or bench it is now for him. This is what we want, players really pushing for a start.

Playing Colback at LB is just as bad as playing Bong there.  We rob the CM of a player who been imperious in that position.

Bong didn't have 'such a bad game at LB' at all vs WBA.  I think he was better there than the game Colback got sent off in.  The sending off which allowed WBA to dominate Forest for the 1st half.  Really need Colback's experience in CM.  It suits Forest better (and Yates form with Colback alongside him no coincidence.)  Colback at LB.  Probably the only real call the coach has made that I've disagreed with.  He's tried it.  And we can see why it doesn't work.  Twice now.

Colback and Bong don't have the legs for it.  Pre: Cooper, both Colback and Bong were both beaten in that position, I think, for Coventry's goal.

If we're going to put square pegs into round holes, you may as well put Oj (composure) there, Garner (legs and vision) or, progressively for the future, Fin (as an alleged CM, he may have the legs for it) or Richardson there.

But this is something that should have been addressed in the Summer. With the CEO and Coach both in planetary alignment(?) and 'feet' under the table this should be addressed.

Arguments for and against Colback in CM for me.

For:
-He's arguably been our best player since Cooper took over- when playing there.
-He has helped  bring the best out of Yates.
-He has scored the most goals from CM.
-He is our player and can't be recalled.
-Make hay while the sun shines-his form is on fire.
-He is only an adequate fill in out of position at LB

Against
- He is getter than Bong at LB and we do have good CM options to cover.
- He is ginger.

Verdict;
- Jack Colback starts in CM and another solution has to be found at LB.

Any appeals?

Surely he needs a couple of under 23 games under his belt first.

If he's 'fit', ie not injured then I think he is classy enough to slot straight in. But......he could solve the Spence being recalled problem in January so we don't want to rush him in and we should try to manage his injuries for the long term gain I think.

He has been training with the Arsenal first team so he should be well on the way to full fitness.

You would have thought that an U23 appearance would help but unfortunately there is no game now until 6th December after yesterdays cancellation.
