Wasn’t very good last night again given a start. Listening to Laws on the way home seemed to think he held the ball up well, have to say that wasn’t particularly what I saw. Thoughts?

I saw it the same way as you. 

I also don’t think that Taylor would have scored the goal that Grabban did. 

It would be interesting to compare and contrast their goals over the past season and a third, not just in terms of output but also where they are scored from / how they are converted.

The ball hit Grabban, bounced away and to his credit he was able to put his toe on it and poke it home. He rescued the chance well but it was a bit of a scruffy attempt. I suspect Taylor may well have been a bit tidier with the chance, maybe spun and directed it goalwards at first attempt? He's more of a natural finisher imo.

I see him the complete opposite, the ball tends to bounce off Taylor and he is often (surprisingly) caught flat footed, generally followed by the slamming of his arms down his sides in frustration.

Not sure why you think he is a natural finisher Pap, his goals record for anyone doesnt really suggest that. I accept he is a far better penalty taker than Grabs though.

The other thing about Taylor, I doubt he would have found himself in the correct position to take the chance that Grabban got last night.

So if he isn't a natural finisher and we've all seen he can't control a bag of cement, what's he got?

He must have done something before we signed him.

He was also in the final year of his contract, playing at the highest level he’s played at, trying to earn the best final pay day he possibly could. 

I think he would score goals if we were creating half a dozen clear cut chances in the six yard box every game. 

The reality is that no championship team is doing that.

Taylor was skinned by Basham (6) for sheff United ample times, the ease he got past Taylor everytime was ridiculous. Defend from the front does not work in Taylor's case as soon as he got skinned it opened up the game for there midfield. That's why the press was a struggle at times on Tuesday night too.

Don't forget that we bought Butterworth and Pearce from Coventry. Butterworth soon left as he was not very good. Pearce did ok though. Don't know what that proves either.
