"Its a nice to have" same with JmG if he is still knocking around - no disrespect of course but we need to make ends meet as best we can.

It's about time, we should be tighter particularly with wages. Would allow for greater investment in the longer term if we ever put together a semi decent young/cheap team

Perhaps it’s in light of paying off Hughton and paying Coopera compo so we’ve gotta make some adjustments for this season etc?

Would hate to loose Brennan Johnson early due to money needs though.
Just sticks in the throat a bit with bong jenkinson arter et al all being a massive waste of money

Its better we are off loading former players rather than the likes of Worrall, Mighten or Johnson who still have a lot to give for this club. Obviously, we are forever indebted to Frank, McGovern, Birtles and the likes for what they achieved. But that was over 40 years ago now.

I think the club are learning to embrace our history, but at the same time stop living in the past. It is time to move on!

To be honest I have given this news some thought and have come to the same conclusion, which is...so what

So old Frank Clark has lost his job, it's a shame but if needs must then so be it.

Is EM still happy writing the cheques Sniff ?

You referred to him talking to potential parties re selling club, is that still his intention in the short to medium term ?

Yes he's happy enough right now.

He's just had the one chat with some Americans, don't think it's gone any further than that yet.

Hopefully he backs Murphy and sees that we can progress, and he can trust the regime without Vrentzos involved.

I would love to think we can keep Johnson in Jan and have a real go at this

I think he will/can Reds 73.

By the way I would like to add that Vrentzos played a huge roll in choosing his successor (Dane) so I would like to say a big well done to him for that.
