FWIW I think this will be the season a lot of people alter their opinion of Ryan.
There are too many in and around the game who rave about him for them all to be wrong.
Who are these people who rave about him??

I’ve spoken to Gary Brazil, Andy Reid, Kevin Nolan and Daws about him.
They have all said he will play in Prem.
They are prob better judges than me or you TBF.

I agree, I think he will play Prem, no doubt.
He is not a Roy Keane though.

Being a bit mischievous this morning thought I'd bump this thread.
Alot of people on here of the same opinion as me that Ryan Yates is a quality player who will go far.
There are a few who perhaps don't.
I'd ask them these questions: If he can produce the level of performance of last 2 games 70-80% of the time would you change your view - or admit you were wrong?
A 2nd question: Would you accept that whilst developing and learning the game, young players will have off days and dips in form?
Final question: Does slating young players struggling to find form help them or hinder them? (Can be character building maybe?)

Yates is a bit limited, but I've just ordered the new sickeningly lumo away shirt with his number and tribute on the back because for me he's one of the first names on the teamsheet.
At 23 he's still got plenty of growing to do as a player, and with his attitude he will grow.
The other season he was unlucky not to bag 4 or 5 goals more than he did. All it's gonna take is one season for them to go in, and folk will be talking of him as an 8-10m player.
Keep it coming Ryan. As Brereton is showing with 10 goals in 11 games now, f there's one lesson I could teach to the dumb stupids of our fanbase it's to stop writing off our young players before they hit their mid-20's.

Yep more or less my opinion, I definitely agree on the goal front, look how much it inflated Garner's value. Again though when we've been bad, Yates has been a big part in this. Thing with him is he does have lots of good attributes, feels like you could coach the positional side and his decision making on the ball so fingers crossed. Also, if he gets marginally better at heading that's an asset we'll enjoy!

I have to admit that he had a decent game I was sat in the stand yesterday and it was nice to see that he played some good passes forward :D and got stuck in, it was refreshing to see, I applauded his effort and commitment and hope that it continues, but one game doesn't make a season :D

He's had plenty of decent games. He's making progress under Cooper as the team, in general are playing higher.
100% effort when some of the mercenary posers were freeloading.
The goal was what Yates is all about. And Forest need that in their team. The type of goal the 'other' sides score against Forest.
Leadership. Will to win. Gets into 'those' areas. Can head it. Can kick it. Developing player. The passing is improving.
Young. Home grown. Flying the flag for the Academy.
Loves Forest.
Yet another manager includes Yates.

I make it 2 consecutive games where he has been an 8 or 9 out of 10 now. If regular goals and quality forward passing is continued, then he becomes the complete midfield player as he has everything else.
With his quote this morning, he is the player I now want to succeed more than any other.

The thing is figuratively speaking, he actually means it and displays it every single game he plays, no matter if he's having a good or bad game.
