EM certainly does not need cash for investment.

I refuse to believe EM has given up and will let us sink to league 1.

But equally I also hope that if we do sell it is to someone who doesn’t own another football club. I honestly believe this is where the issues have arisen. Apply the same tactics to those that work in the Mickey Mouse Greek league in the championship will never work.

I mean the worst owners are often the ones that come with no footballing background as they have no idea what they're doing. Also, they're often the ones in it for financial gain which isn't very likely unless you manage to establish yourself at the top

Apparently “everything must go”…except Chris Hughton

He ain't gonna give the club away for free. Lets see what happens and if the Yanks come back again.

You mean JJM mate?

I don't know whether it was him again or if it was someone new. I don't have the details.

Well to be fair to EM his record in business suggests that the comment he made was true. In every business and every major project he was involved in before buying and since buying NFFC he has delivered and he has delivered big time.

I appreciate that you only care about NFFC but that doesn't make what EM said to be wrong because at the time it was right and he has all the evidence to back it up.

The time at which he said it is irrelevant.

It is a comment that is always going to be considered with the benefit of hindsight.

He was wrong as it stands and looks like his time at NFFC will be a major blot on his business record.

So if it was irrelevant then why do people keep bringing it up?

Can't have it all ways.

If it's relevant then what he said was/is true.

If it's irrelevant then people should stop talking about it.

I said “the time” at which he said it is irrelevant.

No one is having it all ways.

He made a comment which can only be judged with the benefit of hindsight and it now makes him look stupid.

Mark Arthur did the same you will recall.

Christ some people live complicated lives!

He made the comment based on his previous successes in business. Everything he was involved in he delivered hence the comment I don't make promises I deliver. He didn't say I WILL deliver. Anyway I can't be arsed with this.

Its just words. He was in an interview situation on the day of his takeover, and said what he said to downplay expectation of fireworks happening at the club under his new ownership. He's got to sound positive at that moment in time.

Mark Arthur coming out with his 'we're serious about promotion' line was a marketing strategy to sell season tickets and was said when Arthur knew exactly that promotion was an absolutely unachievable ambition that season. Completely different.

I agree Sniff. Its hard enough having to support a shit football team atm without coming on here and seeing tittle tattle being debated as if it's gospel.

We've had CH not being sacked because Dane's on holiday, CH not being sacked because EM cant afford it, Vrentzos continuing to have the club under his evil influence, now a one sentence comment in an interview 5 years ago being held against a guy that since has pumped the best part of £100m quid into the club. Non of this shit comes up when results are better.

Sniff is correct and I think we should be careful what we wish for.

EM is a proven winner in all businesses he has taken on, Forest has been failing until now but lessons have been learned the hard way and hopefully steps taken to rectify.

What do you think we will get if he decides the investment is too much and the reward too low? If he walks he will presumably sell but to who? The majority of EFL clubs who sell up now go to faceless organisations of businessmen, have a look at the recent documentary on Christopher Samuelson if you dont believe me. How do you think half wits like Alonso, Tony Xia at Villa get their fake wealth.

Best case scenario we do get some Yanks, a JJM type, do you think they will be an instant success? Chances are they will make exactly the same mistakes EM has, put someone in charge who has never worked in the UK, think they can get is promoted on the strength of buying a striker who has knocked in a few goals in the US/Mexico/Egypt etc, sack the manager when it doesnt work in 6 months.

In my opinion we are far better off sticking with someone who knows who to operate a Champions League club and who has their own funds to secure our future.
