Both albeit i really do think that the owner is trying to stick with manager's these days. Cant say the same with some of our fans.

But how long do we realistically give him.

Genuine question... if we leave him in place and say let's see where we are at Christmas then by that point our season will be outlined. With a win % of less than 30 the stats would suggest a season of struggle. OK yes he may sign another 4 right backs before the window closes but we are trusting him to turn this around.

Reading his comments about Yates and colback in the post this morning it sounds very helpful like, as predicted, he will be sticking with them. Garner played for united in a friendly yesterday. We don't seem to have any other options in that area. It doesn't work. It didn't work for sabri and its not worked for CH.

I don't like CH never have. I hate his brand of football but will support him whilst he is here. But how long do we realistically give him?

If the owner backs him then so we have to. Doesn't mean we have to like it but once the team is on the pitch we are all wanting the same thing.

The other questikn is how long does the owner back him for.... the fans are one thing but the owner wants success, wants progress. How long does EM leave it until he is satisfied the progress is non existent or not good enough.

It is a good question Pap.

Unless Murphy gets his finger out and gets some players in they may as well fire him now.

Most of the hard work was done before Murphy arrived; we got rid of a number of players, which effected a big saving on our wage bill, at the end of June.

If he has problems with the likes of Arter, Bong and Jenkinson being a drain on our wage bill or bandwidth, whatever the f*ck that means, he needs to pick the phone up and complain to Vrentzos.

All he has to do is sign a few more players so that we can become competitive; if he needs to sell a player to achieve that, I am sure everyone would understand.

As for Hughton's style of play; that is very much subjective.

There was nothing wrong with his style of play at Newcastle, Birmingham or Brighton when they were in the EFL - his sides finished top scorers on two occasions, and in the top four scorers on two other occasions; people can call him defensive all day long but you do not achieve that playing defensive football.

The big difference at those clubs was he got the players he wanted; he has been with us nearly a year and has not come close to getting the players we need.

What Hughton did or did not do during his time in the PL is totally irrelevant; we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

Also, he's not in charge of recruitment, please stop blaming him for this.

Yes he is. The recruitment team give him options he then assessed and decides who he wants. He said as much in his interview this week.

So the recruitment team give him the players to choose from he has decided that right backs is something he wants. The club then honour that. I refuse to believe that the club are just giving him right backs to choose from.

Ultimately the player brought in to the club will have been done on Ch say so.

So, you think that the club are offering him loads of great left back, CM and striker options and he's turning them all down and saying "nah it's ok lets just buy more right backs"? Really?

As he clearly stated in his interview... the recruitment team give him lists he looks at videos and stats and decides who he wants.

They clearly are not just giving him right backs.

No one else is deciding which players to sign other than the manager. If that was the case he wouldn’t be here.

CH has made the decision to bring in tutu FACT.

If we sign this American it will have been on CH say so.

Personally I think the 4 we already have is enough. If Gabriel goes I would be happy with tutu as a starter and back/Richardson as back up. Why spend more wages on positions we have covered.

CHs squad though! His decision and he is getting everything right at the moment.

So you think he's been offered a left back and he's said "no guys, I've just signed a RB, I'll just stick him there"?

He's been offered to sign a top striker but he's said "I think we need to give Grabban and Taylor more time".

He's been offered a CM and he said "no it's Garner or I'm playing Colback there!".

Come on man, do you not hear how crazy that sounds?

We need to look at the bigger picture a bit.

Yes we currently have 4 right backs but one will never play for us again (Jenkinson), one is not good enough yet and will go out on loan (Richardson) and the other one will probably be sold to Blackpool or Sunderland (Gabriel).

So fast forward a couple of weeks and we will hopefully have 2 good right backs to choose from, Jordi and Cannon.

And how should we interpret this statement from CH?

"We would like to add to our attacking arsenal in particular, yes," says Hughton (taken from The Athletic)

Is it just a smokescreen of some kind or is he perhaps only referring to attacking right backs?

Well said Sniff.

Regardless of how good or bad folk judge the window to be, and regardless of how they perceive CH's input into that, the window is far from over and Randall said in his latest interview that he expects the majority of remaining business to be done towards the back end of the window.

I'll be judging what I think of it on Sep 1st myself.

CH is not the one doing the negotiating for the players, is he?

Murphy gets paid the big bucks for that and so far he has only managed a freebie and two loans, FACT.

Murphy needs to get his arse in gear and provide the manager with some new blood so that we can start to win a few games, FACT

So what are we saying here then exactly.

That when we were signing loads of players it was the CEO's fault and now that we are not signing any it's the managers fault

You dont half talk garbage at times.

Where is the Left Back?

Are you saying Hughton has not asked for one?

Where is the striker?

Has buying one of those completely slipped Hughtons mind?

Murphy is the one doing the deals, no one else.

He will have known full well how paper thin the squad is when he arrived but has done nothing about it.

If he is not up to the job he needs to speak up now before he gets in too deep
