Whilst I agree with most of this. It was frustrating today and I doubt any of the options CH had would have done much more - aside from Carvalho, who carried his confidence with him from Wednesday.
But you are wasting your time with certain folk who post gleefully on here after a defeat, but are very quiet when we win.
With 2 wins in 16, something will no doubt change one way or another soon. Personally I am hoping its our results and not the manager that changes, but that's clearly not the case for all of our "supporters". You know who you are.
Here it is again, trying to discredit people who criticize Hughton. I don't see glee on here.
Calling people "supporters"? How about you respond to what they are criticizing if you disagree, not make snidey attacks on the people, as if you're better than them.
Bournemouth had 6 first teamers out, but we didn't take it to them. Their best player was sent off with half an hour left, yet we played with 2 defensive midfielders and left the guy most able to unlock a defence on the bench until minute 83. Alternatively if he wanted to persist with crosses from wide, why not have Taylor and Grabban up top. Against 10 men is a time you can.
Our style of play is not to use the middle much anyway, but give it wide and put hopeful crosses in. Similar stuff last season, Hughton seems to do that. There has been no porgression on how we play, it's like he just wants to do that but have better players to do it. Its from yesteryear.
Personally I agree we have had some poor managers over the years, each time setting us back with their signings. CH is not one of them. We had 2 Hughton signings today I think. One was playing out of position out of necessity and the other was PZ. Arguably our 2 best players on the day.
No-one is immune from criticism and I already stated that CH did not change things quickly enough against 10 men. Though Carvalho aside, not sure it would have mattered.
However, I am sick to death of us hiring and firing managers. Probably get hammered by some but I thought we could evolve under Warburton, but he was sacked...again.
So we hired CH, a manager with the best calibre in the division we are in, of any realistic target out there. If this doesn't work out then where next?
Proven Championship manager?
Foreign coach?
Player Manager?
Forest Legend?
Attack minded coach?
Youth minded manager?
We've tried all of the above (more than once in some cases) and we are still here.
Emotions can run high after games, especially for those with all the answers with hindsight.
Over the 2 league games so far, I think there have been some promising signs, but also some worrying ones. Without Worrall our defence needs protecting, especially with the full back situation as it is. We are missing 3 key players (albeit Bong is only key as he is our only LB) including our talisman in Worrall.
Bournemouth, barely a year out of prem may well have been missing 6 but they looked good against WBA and looked fairly good today. Brooks is class, their LB looked very good and I have never heard of him.
If CH isn't the answer (and I'm not sure he is either) then who? Or maybe it needs to be a different question?
There are some demanding he be sacked after 1,2 and now 3 games. Really? Feels a bit dejavu from where I stand. How has that gone for us in last 20 odd years?

Ask Brighton fans.
Disapointing and fristrating today but if people cant see the progression in the side now from the end of last season then they really should try having a few less beers before the games.
We at last look more offensive with Mighten and Johnson the major plus points for me. I think Taylor is at last showing flashes of what we thought we bought now there's more happening around him. Lolley is being nursed back. He's not fully firing yet but showing flashes of his old self. We need to persevere with him, he just needs games and his confidence will return as his fitness does. Zinc looks and absolute player at this level, compare him to last season's Knockaert.
Its clear were not yet the finished article. Add Garner to the side, sort the full backs out, get Wozza in for Figs and we really might have a solid season.
Negatives today for me are the lack of quality from set plays. We had multiple opportunities to put quality into the box and banged in average balls that were tame or over hit. Also though we saw maybe what the clubs see's in Gabriel. He looked bang average to me today and not particularly good either defending or attacking . Why we relied on him sticking crosses into the box on that side I dont know when Mighten and Tutu were frightenting the life out of them on the other wing. Everything shiuld have been going to Mighten.
For me, despite these two disapointing results, things are shaping up. There is progression for us to see. We conceded 4 sloppy goals in two games and they've been very costly. Im sure they'll we working on that a lot in the enxt few weeks.
And credit to Bournemouth today. What a performance they put in. They weathered the warly storm and got i to the game. Patched up side but still brimming with quality. And the effort they put in down to 10 for 30 mins was impressive. If they dont get promoted this season there'll be 3 absolutely brilliant sides in the division.

I was at the game and couldn't believe the amount of fans that have had enough of CH and want him gone, and to be honest after today's showing he is never going to change his style of defensive football, surely be can see what the "supporters" see , if he cannot then we will never progress with him at the helm,
Personally for myself I see CH as a bottle job that won't do any good here and will not change, we are not getting any better, he spoke of getting more offensive players in, well what's the point of that, when it's obvious for all to see that he is far to defensive, I really hope that he can turn this around and prove everyone wrong and take us to the promised land, but I really cannot see that happening.

Despite the result I saw much in the Reds side to be confident about especially, I suppose, before we went a goal done. I thought that we were positive, quick and we looked hungry. We had weaknesses though that were exploited by a good side with a few excellent players. It's clear and has been for a long time that we need a striker who has a physical presence and is able convert chances from crosses, sometimes, even, in the air. Although I thought that Taylor played ok the Bournemouth defence was rarely in trouble. Also clearly we need a left back who can defend securely and Worral back. Then I'm sure results will pick up. I expect no better than mid table this season.

Just seen their 2nd goal several times over. WTF is Samba playing at?
He must be the most overrated keeper we've ever had here. He's still a steady, decent Champ keeper like, but hasn't been consistently good since Lamouchi had one of the best defenses in the league sat in front of him.
If I were Dane I'd be looking to bring in better for next pre-season for sure.

Tbf we already have a keeper in to replace him! No idea if he's any good but maybe it's time to hand over the gloves

That was CH's fault.
How many games have we lost with Colback/Yates in the middle ???? 90% of the games where those 2 start together ?
When Bournemouth went down to 10 men then Colback should have been straight off. You do not play 2 CDM against 10 men.
All down to CH.........too negative.

But we were in the ascendancy and dominating in a good moment so we did not need to make changes.....

I agree with him. We were in a good moment at that point but I assumed they both stayed on because Bournemourh still looked dangerous on the break. I thiught it was Brennan who needed to be replaced with Carvalho, not Colback.

We were 2-1 down mate, we needed more and we were not creating anything despite lots of possession. We needed more forward thinking players. Again Johnson found great pockets of space but our centre midfielders are not good enough to get the ball to him, so bring one off for someone that has that forward pass in the locker, I'd of not been against fornah for what it's worth. He has more of that in his locker.

Yep, i can see that now in hindsight but at the time i felt Johnson was a passenger.
