Hughton has been entrusted with the job and he will know the score. He will have to get the team challenging at the right end and to do that, generally sides have to play more progressive and attacking football.
Hughton has yet to shape the team as he wants it because he inherited a squad cobbled together with aging players, unknown foreigners or players who had played virtually no football in the previous 12 months. He was also picking from an existing squad of players scarred by failure, whose best player had been sold, whose leading creative player was injured/out of form and whose central striker was woefully out of confidence. The side had little pace or creativity and ultimately we got safe because we were generally defensively sound - particularly once Worrall returned.i think the mantra is play to your strengths and Hughton did not have many options as to our strengths.
We saw the difference some of his signings made to the team in January and with the changes to recruitment we've got to be positive about our chances of doing better than last season. We saw in flashes last season against Swansea, Millwall and a few other games that we could play some good football and hopefully with some more cutting edge then that style is what Hughton wants and will bring us more reward than this year.
If Hughton gets the sack for finishing 17th in the Premier league he will have done better than every manager since Frank Clark - and for that I would be very grateful.

I was reading some comments from Brighton fans the other day and they were all saying the same thing which was for us to stick with Hughton despite a poor season.
Normally is right.
Newcastle second season he got the sack, and his second season at Norwich wasn’t a roaring success (finishing 11th), and sacked in his 3rd season with club 17th.
But yes did get to the play offs in his second season at Brighton.
So he got Newcastle up in his first season then?
Wasn't that season at Norwich when he finished 11th in the PL? If it was then I bet they have never been higher than 11th since.
As you didn't answer I just checked and when Hughton finished 11th with Norwich it WAS in the Premier League.
This is where we differ. You want to beat Hughton with a stick for finishing 11th with Norwich in the PL where I think that getting Norwich into 11th place in the PL is a tremendous achievement.
Ask Norwich fans what they think of Hughton and his style of football.
I did post it when he joined us.
I am not convinced, but hey, let’s see what happens in his meeting with the boss man and then what the summer brings and he can drill and gel them in preseason to be one of the promotion contenders.
That’s what I want, and I am sure after 5 years that’s what the big man wants.
I've randomly got loads of mates who are Norwich fans and they all love Hughton. Not sure why there are so many Norwich fans in york, that's a separate debate.

Ha are you accusing me of lying?
I think York Uni is a popular destination for Norwich based folk, trying to get as far away as possible perhaps.
You're right though you have to live in the area to be a real fan. I'm not even a real Forest fan living in York either so what would I know...

Either you're being awkward for no obvious reason, or you have called me a liar and said I'm not a "real fan" whatever that means. Not sure if you think this is funny or clever but I'll warn you insulting people is not generally well received by anyone.
