Gulp, 29th April? That's early to make a decision on the safety merits of attending. I'm going to take my time and see what the general virus situation is July/August time before I commit. If that means we miss out then so be it, it's a risk I'm going to take.
Not having a go at you Pap, everyone needs to make their own decision. My take on it is that the virus situation in July /August will be more or less the same as it is now, it isnt going to simply disappear. However hopefully you will be fully vaccinated by then so your risk will be low. The choice you have is do you attend any football/ mass events again or is even a low risk something you dont want to take anymore?
Personally I would prefer to try to get on with life, will buy my ST and whatever will be. I really hope we arent still taking about reduced capacity, it simply isnt sustainable.
The problem is it's just your take on it at the moment though isnt it Salv? I'm late forties and scheduled to only have my 2nd Jab in July so is there a chance a lot of younger people wont have had their 2nd jab by the time the season starts? Maybe, I dont know. But you're right, at some point we're going to have to accept there are risks in life, like getting the flu. The trouble is, on the 29th we're going to be no where near 'normal'.
While I'm sure the club will do everything it has to do in terms of safety, what's going to be the situation with things out of it's control such as pubs, trains, trams, busses in August? Have you ever caught the tram after a game? Sometimes you have to push yourself in it's that full. You're like sardines in there sometimes. Are the tram and train companies going to control things or is it going to be a free for all? I go with my 80yo father. It's him I'm worried about. If I shell out £800 for two tickets and find after the first game that he's not safe (or he doesn't feel safe) in the first entire experience then will the club give me a refund or is it my financial risk to take? He cant walk far so parking up in Nottingham and walking to the ground isn't an option. Even parking on the embankment can mean a good 10/15 minute walk.
You make a fair Point about your Dad and I sympathise with that. I suspect quite a few of our elderly supporters may decide its no longer worth it which would be a shame.

Exactly pal. Life goes on, we seriously need to stop the media controlling us and putting the fear of god into us.
I’ll be renewing ASAP, bring on next season when we’re all allowed back in the grounds.
Easy to say for some. It's really tough. I want to go to the games as my Dad's realistically only got a few more seasons where he's going to be able to attend. So missing out on another year will be a blow. But I have to be responsible.
Yeah this is the same for me, don't want to be taking my Dad if it's going to massively increase the risk to him. However as you say not going to have that many more seasons so it's a tough one. I think being patient and waiting to see the effectiveness of vaccines/case rates/new variants nearer the time.
What's the rush, can't we just enjoy hanging out in beer gardens and playing golf for a few months!
I have no problem with others wanting to go though if it's deemed safe to allow people into grounds again. As long as everyone follows the rules in place then it's a personal decision either way.

It the 'everyone following the rules' bit that's the worry really. As I say, I'm sure the club will control things properly in the stadium but there's going to be some arsehole fans around who don't give a shit for the well being of others. They'll just be wanting their pub/match/pub routine to return and it'll be stuff everyone else once they've got a few beers in them.
And I'm told that NET have not controlled the trams at all during this pandemic. I've heard stories of people not wearing masks and groups of kids ignoring the rules not being challenged in any way or refused entry. What are they going to do when there's 150 people pushing to get on the tram all at once?

I hope the club read this forum. If they are I'd be happy to chat to them about these concerns.

It feels like driving in is the only option, that's what I'll be doing when I go I imagine. Although this is also partly due to moving miles away from the local station and car making more sense now

Yep, but where the hell do you park when everyone else is driving in too?

Ha I'm not giving away my secret spots! Basically you have to park about 20 min walk away or get there really early.
I used to get train from York but if I'm driving will park north side of Nottingham I imagine. Would require some research

I think the club are pretty aware of these issues Pap, hence the survey they put out of which there were a lot of questions around how you travel to and from the stadium.
Too many things are beyond their control though on top of the obvious 20k all wanting a half time piss. No easy answers.

I always get down earlyish and park in County's ground (I have parked in the 'chairmans' spot on a couple of occasions :D ) It did cost a fiver to park, but the car park does have security. There are also a couple of other options on Meadow Lane too, like the auction house or cattle market.
You would be screwed if you like to get down late though!

I campaigned for a park and ride system using the current p&r sites plus the major tram hubs like the Forest, wilkinson st, Hucknall, Beeston etc. These sites all have capacity on Saturday pms and midweek nights. I suggested that the car parks at the ground lose some car parking and create space for the buses. The buses would be electric ones of course so reducing the enormous amount of pollution produced by all of the cars. It would take some planning but I can't see too much wrong with idea.

Sounds like a great idea Cisco. Keep up the campaigning mate!!
