SA.

Money?

A cheap "Lego" stadium can still be built for about £30m, but a top design can cost over £1,200m now (eg. MetLife Stadium).

We're not in the market for world class, I'm afraid.

Hire Norman Foster (?) and get Apple as sponsors.

Get them involved in the design.

Needs innovation.

I think the best we can ever hope for is a new Main Stand that looks similar to the Clough Stand and gives the CG some sort of uniformity and balance. The Bridford End will always look a Pigs Ear until the Upper Tier is completed. If we ever get to that stage then we will have a tidy ground that looks better, holds more and is in a far better setting than our two local East Mids rivals.

This wont go down well but Ive always said that Nottingham is not big enough for the two teams we have if we ever have ambitions of standing toe to toe with the big boys. Notts County will never disappear but a ground share at the CG would benefit both clubs big time. Sell Meadow Lane, contribute to an big upgrade.

I like the sound of that.

Having a Main Stand like the old 'Shelf' at White Hart Lane Tottenham or the Kippax at Maine Road Manchester City would be awesome.

Groundshare is done elsewhere in Europe successfully and with regards to the pitch, playing surfaces have come a long way since we played on mudheaps in the 80's. One game a week would be no problem.

County havent got two pennies to rub together. If people can look beyond club loyalties and more about the economics then its a positive way forward.

Another different design stand? It bad enough now with the various stands from different era's. We need some uniformity to make the ground look decent.

I dont really see the point of safe standing if it doesnt increase the capacity or reduce the price.

Why should we help County?
This city is not big enough for 2 teams of substance.

Sharing with the Sadpies?

Not in a million years.

Imagine parts of the City Ground being black and white and welcome to Notts County at the entrance to the Peter Taylor Stand which would probably be renamed the Jimmy Squirrel Stand.

No f*****g way.

It will never happen. In Italy (where grounds are shared), the facility is not owned by the clubs but by the council, so that personalized touch is not there. In the old days Juventus and Torino shared one ground (not any more), Inter and Milan still use the same Giuseppe Meazza, Hellas Verona and Chievo Verona both play at the Bentegodi (incidently both teams play in yellow and blue, and Roma and Lazio play at the Olimpico.
