I don't think any manager should, at any club, but it's not always that easy, you need the replacement players, & we don't have them & it's easy to say play the kids, but none of those available (not already included in the set up) are ready for 90 minutes, week in, week out, in this mess & it would do them more harm than good if we tried.

I agree with that Knocker. Things were a little easier when there was a reserve team set up where the youngsters could mix with seniors who could get their form back and return to the fold whilst others could be dropped. Now there's about 7 subs I think?

Brum are Evens - so a 50% chance.
Don’t see it that way personally even though I don’t think we will go down

I'd like us to adopt a reserve team or B team as they call them now, as well as our U23 team, so promising youngsters can be lifted above youth football & returning casualties, or out of form players needing minutes, can get this in adult football, rather than against 5 year olds.
Wouldn't make much difference to the here & now,but long term, if we ever reached this point again, we'd have a better understanding as to where some of our players stood in the scheme of things & some of our youngsters would get more minutes in adult football.
Someone like Mighten, for example, would benefit greatly, because he'd have played way more football this season under that set up, but not without removing him from the first team appearances he's had & needed.

Don't bring that up!
Brum are only 3 points behind us, not sure those are right. Although agreed don't think we'll go down either.
Brum next three games are Watford, Swansea and Brentford so hopefully that'll help us

I don't know why and I have honestly heard absolutely nothing but for some reason I have a nagging thought in my mind that Hughton will walk away from this job at the end of the season. Probably bollocks but anyone else having the same thoughts?

It’s possible Sniff, wouldnt be too surprised if for once we parted ways with an amicable settlement. CH is 62 and if it is made clear to him that once again the goal is promotion at all costs next season he may feel it is better to walk away with his head high than wait for an inevitable sacking. Also even if they say there is no pressure he may feel there is too big a job on his hands.
For what its worth if you are one of those demanding instant success I dont think CH is the man for you, he is definitely a slow build type of manager. If you are more patient I think he will get us moving in the right direction next season but we know what to expect from him and its not edge of your seat 4-3 wins.
The success of Reading, Watford and Barnsley with their new managers has made me wonder if CH is outdated. However it may yet unravel for any of those teams, we tried that approach ourselves with Lamouchi, it worked for a while here. So do we stick with good old dependable Chris who may get us there one day or gamble again on an upgraded Lamouchi type.

In his first season in charge of Brighton, CH took over the club on an 11 match winless run and were facing relegation. He managed to steer the club to safety, in 20th position.
In 2015-16 season, he managed to steer the club to 3rd place in the league, but lost out in the Play off semi-final against Sheff Weds. Brighton finished that season on 89 pts, having won 24, drawing 17 and only losing 5 times. Boro pipped them to the 2nd place by a goal difference of 2, having scored 72 and conceding 42. Boro only managed to score 62 times that season, but had a very solid defence, only conceding 31. Interestingly, Aitor Karanka was the Boro boss at that time.
The next season saw CH take Brighton up into the PL, by finishing 2nd in the league top Newcastle. They missed out on the top spot by 1 point only. Newcastle had 94 points to Brighton's 93. Brighton scored 74 times that season, which saw them win 28, draw 9 and lose 9 (including the 3-0 win by Forest at the City Ground). They only conceded 40 times.
Clearly, once he get his chance to bring in players of his choosing, I think we will see a massive uplift in our performances, and league position. Dare I dream and suggest he does 'a Brighton' at Forest? No, that is one optimism too far at this stage. The season after? Possibly, but lets concentrate on getting out of the predicament we are currently in first!
As many have already said on here, our club are carrying far too many average/below average players, too many past their sell by date journeymen and too many who are only here for the money and not wearing the shirt with pride.
I would hope the club will afford CH the opportunity to do what he feels necessary to improve our squad, not just his preferred starting X1. At the same time, I also hope CH feels it is a project that can be achieved and is one he feels will be worthwhile him taking on.
At the end of the day, as many have rightly said on this Forum, he is working with past managers/coaches signings and will have the opportunity to clear the decks and bring in his choices which he deems suitable to his preferred style of play.
It is my opinion that he is getting the side to be more defensive this season to secure the clubs safety, then will hopefully stamp his style on his new squad, which will be more attacking minded, similar to his first two full seasons at Brighton.
At the end of the day, as a certain famous manager once quoted, 'Rome wasn't built in a day'. We need stability and that stability needs to start with the manager and backroom staff, then let him build his squad and keep that squad together over a number of seasons so there is stability in his preferred style or formations.
Therefore, I hope he does decide to stay and take on the massive rebuilding project the club so desperately needs.

I wouldn't be shocked if that did happen.
