Are you serious, you call this "doing a good job" I'm sorry SA but you must be easily pleased, he's doing the opposite we are in a worse state now, we are going backwards, and he needs to convince the supporters that he is the right man for the job, but as it is he is doing nothing of the sort.

'Doing a good job.'
Not what I said.
'Doing as good a job (as POSSIBLE!) with a crap fest of players brought in by a previous manager who BOTTLED the play offs.' (Pre-season, your own players and batteries NOT included.)

if he is doing a good job wait till he really starts managing the preparation and does some effective game management not mention trying out differant tactical approaches, also players who give everything seem to get injured, i mean if he proactively did anything observable or measureable i would love to agree, i think he is the complete architect of his own demise where we do not look like winning a game for the foreseeable

"As good a job" as who? Sorry the sentence doesn't really make sense to me.
Do you mean "as good a job as possible with the crap fest of players brought in by a previous manager who BOTTLED the play offs"?

How can we be going backwards from when Sabri left us? He left us at rock bottom. Bottom of the table without a win in 6. Under Hughton only Norwich in the last run of 18 games have outclassed us. And as well they might.
Forest are now out of the relegation zone and 3 points off mid table.
'Easily pleased?'
Are you 'serious'?
How can any Forest fan be 'easily pleased' by this train wreck of a season. The inception of which belongs to the doors of the former manager who decided a late pre-season would be a good idea on the back of his capitulation, the recruitment staff and the Boss who takes full responsibility for how the season started.
If you bring in another manager half way through the season. They have to rotate (LARGELY) 14 mediocre players and an imbalanced playing staff off the back of a late pre-season.
In the greater context of last season? Forest have gone backwards since last season (a largely over achieving side when you take Sow out of it) but that's not down to Hughton. The train wreck had started even before the Summer. The board had the chance to back Sabri properly last January. We know how that turned out.

Do you mean "as good a job as possible with the crap fest of players brought in by a previous manager who BOTTLED the play offs"? (and then left the new manager carrying the can for the botched recruitment and the lack of significant pre-season.)

I think that the lack of talent, pace and ability is fairly obvious to us but what worries me more is the lack of spirit and determination. The body language v Norwich looked more like a team resigned to re!egation than one that was doing everything they could to earn the respect of their quality opponents. The manager and coaches have a big role to play in this department. Yesterday they failed as the side took to the field expecting to lose and showing it. We've had the best ever manager, he would never had tolerated such attitude and lack of guts.

I take it you were not watching in 75 then?
We were dire, we were awful, we lacked ideas, our body language was all wrong, & instead of ranting on twitter the way back then was for a letter to be sent to the football post most weeks telling us how bad we were & talking about the need for change.
Motivating people that don't want to be here & who we don't want here long term, is a very difficult trick to pull off.

We had a decent centre half back in '75 too! A certain Sammy Chapman :shy:

As I recall knocker BC joined us in January 1975 when the team was low down in div. 2. He struggled for a while that's for sure but after signing p!ayers like Barry Butlin who whilst not an elegant player was certainly a battler as were the likes of Sammy Chapman and Paul Richardson. Many games we played badly but you're right I don't remember a lack of fight in the performances under BC. It was different then of course but he didn't keep players without fight and determination. I see no reason why CH should select players with bad attitude today. We have plenty of ambitious youngsters who could play instead.

Christ Hughton will need divine inspiration. (See what I did there?)
The simple fact of the matter, Norwich have outclassed Forest on and off the pitch for about 15 years. I don't take any joy in typing that.
All the Forest chickens are coming home to roost in this season (well, half of them are on loan...so...well...you know what I mean...). There's a laundry list of capitulations, petulance, self inflicted wounds and hubris what have brought Forest here. 7 places off bottom. By people who are paid alot more money and who should know better.
I don't like the fact that the top 7 are a list of 'crap clubs' who have earned the right to be there. Forest fans aren't 'easily' pleased. We've had the best. Just not for a good, long while. The fact that they are all in the top 7 and Forest are not can't be pinned on a manager who came in late and a mediocre squad constructed before his arrival.
Aitor getting sacked by Birmingham not ring any bells? At least Knocker seems to have made an honest call on Karanka's time here.
Should have listened to Martin. We'd have been further ahead and in no way bottled any play offs. See what happens when you back sulky players that are journey men but can't be bothered to run up a hill in Nottingham? And what seemed like not backing a Forest legend(s) to the point where a glittering CV can't continue? Can't be the player's fault, right? But I'll brood on that one. And we'll never know. (Another manager without a pre-season...or a Summer squad of plays of his own to pick from.)
But fair play to Warburton, he's stuck to his guns with a club that are (were?) broke. And they are higher than Forest.
Yeah. For 16k to 30k a week. Sure. They should have got close to Norwich in the 1st half. We all know that. RUN! ROUGH 'EM UP! DON'T RESPECT THEM THAT MUCH! GET IN THERE! STOP THEM PLAYING! IT'S WHAT YOU'RE PAID (ALOT) FOR!!

I understand peoples frustration I really do, but to get a better manager in this division in our current state is unlikely. In fact I was a bit surprised and very happy that CH took the job.
We aren't the first team to be taken apart by Norwich recently and I doubt we will be the last. It doesn't make it any more palatable, especially the first half, but its been very noticeable how many hindsight experts we have linked to our fan base.
Sadly, with who we had available, the Manager had little option than to try to make us difficult to break down. Unfortunately, the opposite happened and we were taken apart for 45 minutes clearly Hughton didn't say, "stand off, be slow into the tackle and get beaten easily on edge of box". The players did that all by themselves.
As a wise man once said when asked 'What makes a good manager?' He replied 'Good players'. Last night Norwich had lots of them and we didn't.
