No suprise the sheep lost tonight too. The derby games take a lot out of the players I always think.

Sat/Tues schedule catching up.

SA.

Sorry SA but I’m not buying that.

The schedule is the same for everyone - and our budget is bigger than probably 75% of clubs in this division.

Our squad is as deep as just about all of our competitors.

The programme is - I agree - a tough one but not one that we can hide behind.

That was a kick in the teeth. I thought Luton were poor first half then sniffed blood after their first meaningful effort and targeted our right centre half!
Their big guy from Walsall was a constant thorn too. Hughton blew it after the goal by not matching the diamond they were playing- dropping Krov into midfield and knockeart into the 10 would have been better if he wanted 2 up top and Ameobi looked half arsed.
It was just a very strange reaction and they looked knackered. Murray for me had 2 glorious chances that he really should score. Our next 5 are as tough as they come but luckily for us Birmingham have a similar run mirroring ours.
The football first half though was the best I’ve seen is play in ages- fluent controlled football with good distances between players in a very solid shape yet expansive.
Our wingers though were bad tonight- Lolley looks a shell of the player he was...Knockeart I really don’t like - ball gready with little end product of goals and assists.

We all agree that we need someone up front that is quick, who is able to move quickly in to a space where the ball is, and
to be able to let a shot off ( hopefully on target ) Most really effective goalscorers have in the past benifitted from having a low centre of gravity. e.g. Messi, Gert Muller, Jimmy Greaves etc.
Having a low centre of gravity means that it is harder for them to be brought down, and when they are hacked down it is easier for them to regain their balance and recover the ball. We have such a player already on our books.
This player has already scored 2 pivotal goals. Who are we talking about ?
ALEX MIGHTEN !!
Total cost
ZERO !!

I do quite like this idea..... just throw mbe soh into the defense so we've got a set piece threat and I'm all for trying this!

I thought our wingers terrorised them first half, putting in a string of decent balls into the box. I have been Knockearts harshest critic but he has more or less won me over since the turm of the year. Lolley roasted their full back numerous times in 1st half too. 2 crosses from that side for Murray for relatively straight forward chances too.  It was them fading that was disappointing. Swopping wings seemed to play into their hands somehow.

The teams in this league are too evenly matched for anyone to be able to spunk the kinds of clear cut chances we have this season. At least we aren't chucking them in at the other end now generally.

Hatrick for Murray this weekend?

Hatrick for Murray this weekend you must be joking.

Played really well 1st half - very happy with that performance but needed to score a goal.

Second half same.......until they scored. Then it went after the subs. Players had no idea how to play after the subs.

Amoebi looked awful.....lazy and tired and completely not match fit.

Mighten was lightweight.

With Krov gone and then a midfield a man short............completely useless.

Shows how important Krov is in linking midfield to attack.

Wrong sub I am afraid.........should have been Taylor on for Murray and keep the formation.

Agree with the above but given how Luton were set up it was maybe worth trying 4-4-2 - did look like we`d never played together afterwards.

Feels like a hundred other Tuesday nights where we were expected to beat a team at home and ended up with no points. Taking Krov off and going to 442 finished us as an attacking threat.

It was like watching the 2020 Forest. Useless balls up to an ineffective striker,  no  creativity in midfield,  no one with enough composure to test the keeper from distance. He should've taken Murray off when it was obvious the 442 wasnt working. He was knackered and contibuting nothing at that point. Stick Freeman up there or something or put him in the middle to even up the midfield.

This is the first game ive had reason to question the the manager's decisions.

Big ask but we really could do with a win on Saturday now or we're into slump territory. Lose and it will be DLL, 1 point from 9 with all the tough games to come. 3 games of which 2 could have easily been won, had we just not put the ball in the net when in complete control of the game.
