At least we acted quick to get a replacement in. While I can't imagine him being as good as Byram he'll be someone to keep Darikwa on his toes.

Feel sorry for the lad. He was clearly holding out for a move to us.
If it's true he's gone back to West Ham for his recovery then I assume that there's some kind of 'send him back' mechanism in the loan and I also hope that such a mechanism would have been removed if West Ham had agreed to the loan-to-permanent transfer, which they did not. It would serve them right.

From what I've read so far about Janko doesn't make good reading, but he is here and he is still young and we shall see what he is like in a Forest shirt. Looks another unit as well.

Aitor’s quote to NEP
We will know something very soon. We need to find out whether he needs surgery or another kind of treatment. “I do not think – and hope – that it is not a long injury. “I am not a doctor, but my feeling is that while he is not going to be back in a week or 10 days, we do not think it is not going to be six, seven or eight months either.

“Sam Byram had surgery this week after his incident on loan with Nottingham Forest,” said West Ham’s head of medical, Richard Collinge.
“He had surgery on Monday which went to the consultant’s liking.” There is still no news on how long the full-back is likely to be sidelined for, however.

Could be out 6 months depending on rehab.
What a shame!

But I wonder if he was 100% when he played. Out of the team for a year then suddenly into the cut and thrust of Championship football. Sure, the nature of the tackle with his 'off' leg meant he was vulnerable to a twist. Or we can put it down to 'just our luck' Forest injury hoodoo we seem to have with fullbacks. That's the thing with some of the players Forest are targeting. Fitness due to not being the 'no.1' pick in their parent club's team. Hopefully, as the squad builds up to full fitness it will level out over time. SA.
