Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

We are in the middle of a real hard run of fixtures at the worst possible time.

But we knew these fixtures were coming, he's said himself he was aware of it as he looked through the fixtures. We have tough ones now because he started off with a very friendly set of fixtures. Yet he didn't push for 3 points against the weaker teams. I said it at the time, it would catch up with us. And one win was a heavy deflection in the last minute, another was a last minute penalty against the run of play. It could easily have been worse. Just too negative. We need positive.

Agreed although we have to play these teams and some time. 

Prior to that we played Derby, Chaventry and Wycombe, arguably some of the easier fixtures on paper, yet still amassed a run rate of 1.08 PPG

No way will Houghton be sacked. EM will be chased out of english football if he sacks him.

Thats nonsense paplane, Oneill was liked if not more by folk around the football world, pretty sure EM wont risk relegation for the sake he will upset people, we are playing shite under hughton, sabri had the same problems above him but got us playing well and got results, its just not working for chris, anyone can see that, the players look like they dont want to play for him half the time..

It sounds to me that there is too much player power if the players don't want to play for CH as suggested above.

This was also a problem when Roy Keane was here (allegedly) and was actually why he left (allegedly), which then made MON's position very qustionable too. Easy to blame Vrentzos and sorry for mentioning that because I don't want to start all that again but I believe it was player power why Keane left and player power that got MON sacked.

Now there are some suggestions that it's happening again? (not by me).

Id love a attacking minded coach, just like billy use to say, you score one, we will score one more, not that im saying i want billy, just want someone to come in and get us playing football the forest way, on the ground with plenty of goals with the fast skillfull youth we have involved, fornah, mighten, johnson, have the makings to be first team starters next year with the right gaffer, with chris they will be sold for the likes of more old experience

I know you dont believe a word DT says, Sniffer but actually he endorsed what you have just said above, it pretty much was player power with MON, he was unpopular from word go particularly with some of the foreign players who thought English players were favoured, that very much led to his downfall.

I agree this sort of thing is far too common now, not sure how you resolve it. Think it is always likely to be a problem in a large squad and if there is a bomb squad because there will be unhappy people somewhere.

This is where I am undecided on DT’s version of events actually. He claimed the bomb squad treatment is brutal and it looks bad for their mates in the first team and affects confidence all round. The alternative view is you dont want players not in the team moaning in the ear of those who are about the manager all day long. I can see both sides.

Until we stop the continuous turnover of coaches - which breeds an unwieldy, unbalanced squad - which in turn breeds discontent - we will continue to experience mediocrity.

EM needs to have the balls to make a decision and stick by it.

I’m not happy with Hughton - despite my initial support - but we surely have to stick with him. He needs to be given at least 3 or 4 windows to prune the deadwood in order to reduce the squad to a manageable size. If that means blooding the kids then so be it. What we don’t need in January is another 6 in / 6 out window & if this means we have to go through this season ( and potentially next ) in the bottom half then so be it.

We all know of course that this won’t happen. The owner & the fans are far too impatient & demand instant success.

Some pundits and friends in the game will give him supportive words if he’s fired, but that doesn’t mean they’ll attack our club. They know the score at the end of the day, and if he gets fired it’s cos he didn’t get results.

As for fans, they watch so they know the score. Just read the opposition fans comments each week. This weeks especially as they had him at Norwich.
