Will it improve relations between the players and the club? No. Will it make CH's job easier? No. Will it make a win tonight more likely? No. Will it make yhe club nore attractive to potential new signings? No.

Will it generally create more unease among fans,  players,  staff,  sponsers? Yes. If he's such a big forest fan why run the story?

Coz 1) it sells, 2) truth does need outing.

One of the reasons though I tried to draw attention to some of our faults, such as recruitment, in years gone by is so that could be dealt with sensibly.

Instead there's now a big backlash brewing, and this just stokes the fires.

Someone will have to leave if results don't change soon. The worst thing the ownership could do is make that the manager again.

He has clearly got his teeth into this regime & will not let go.
More power to his elbow.

Obviously part of the reason will be to generate business for his employers, however I imagine that in part it's because he's a Forest fan that he's felt he's had to tell the story.

He wants us to be successful. To do that we have to change certain things, our strategy regards to recruitment and continuity being probably the biggest of those things. If he thinks - rightly or wrongly - that he can help bring about that change by publishing the article then I don't blame him one bit for doing so.

Danny Taylor is as big a fan as we all are & a highly respected investigative sports journalist.

Very few direct quotes, detailed reporting of events or evidence to substantiate his claims in there though. That was the point I was trying to make. It reeks of mud raking and it being a punch in some kind of vendetta against the club or Vrentzos.

Also, I note he didn't mention the academy this time though, or the fact that Gary Brazil is now the domestic transfer guru. Re the stadium planning app, he tells this story of an argument with the council but doesn't then mention that the apartment development was actually substantially changed. I'm not saying the things he says happened didn't, just that I'm not prepared to be used in a pawn in some kind of argument between him and the club.

I'm sure it's mostly a factual piece, but it's not quality journalism, just a rant.

I wish I shared your optimism. I just think it helps in no way and just makes CH's job even harder. Are the players likely to be motivated or disillusioned today reading that, with a tough match to concentrate on tonight?

The issues seem to run deeper than just one match though. Apart from the close season we're always on the verge of the next match so this is as good a time to release the article as any. If the players are professional this won't affect them one bit.

Danny's article will definitely resonate at the Club; its a case of whether it resonates with the right people.

Judging by what has been written, Vrentzos is clearly aware he is part of the problem and has taken steps to rectify that; the question is if he has done enough and soon enough to get a positive response, because there is no doubt we are in a lot of trouble.

Vrentzos has done a great job as CEO; the Clubs finances have been turned round, we clearly have a strategy with a new stand and Cat A on the horizon, and all of the facets abandoned by Fawaz have slowly been rebuilt.

Will try to summarise some bits later. It is very well written and thought out, a lot of flesh on the bones of earlier accusations. Lets just say a certain person isnt reflected too well.

I know one certain forum owner who is going to go ballistic when he reads this article.

However, as a result of my bust up with Sniff a few weeks ago about a similar article by DT, I am not going to comment on it further. Partly out of respect for Sniff, but partly because I am sick and tired of going over the same ground time and time again.

Why?

Is it something new or just the same old recycled rubbish from before?

I haven't read the article nor will I because it's written by someone with an axe to grind and so it's both unbalanced and unfair in my opinion.

Some of the rubbish written by DT recently:

1. Olympiakos cherry picking our players (comedy gold).

2. Ribeiro frozen out (He starts almost every game).

3. No cat one academy. (We can only apply once every three years and the application is going in).

4. The new stand is just a smokescreen. Really? That is one hell of a smokescreen!

I won't go on and I am not commenting on it anymore so don't bother trying to tempt me.

DT is damaging our club. Fan? He's just a businessman.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

To add some balance to the points raised:

Bomb squad: Bong and Ribeiro have been removed by the new manager. Who thinks Clough is not worthy of being in there? Hefelle? Who thinks Pants was worth paying Watford an extra transfer payment for? Taylor says the club want to run themselves like Arsenal do. Well how are they treating Ozil, who they clearly want out of their club?

Transfer strategy: At the beginning of the last window I was of the opinion that the focus should be on recruiting championship experienced domestic players. The club have taken a similar view and acted on that. If you're of a similar view, what's not to like? Re number of transfer in recent times, who thought after the Preston night match loss that triggered a string of outgoings and incomings, that the squad as it was then was fine? None of us did we?

Change of Managers: EM did everything they could do to back Sabri but who was of the opinion that he didint need putting out of his misery at the end?

Treatment of players: Is it possible that EM and Vrentros have come in to the club, taken stock and observed just how much a cushy number it is to play for Nottingham Forest? I don't know, maybe they have or Vrentzos is just an arse. Without hearing from both sides it's a difficult judgement.

Pause on redevelopment: As much as people say this is the time to build a stand (while there are no supporters allowed), this is certainly not the time for a business who has seen it's income reduced to practically zero for the best part of a year. You don't commit to paying fortunes on infrastructre if your entire income has been ripped from under you.

We're struggling at the moment but I can see that strides are being taken in the right direction of late. I'll be taking a balanced view on the criticisms and assessing how these changes work out in the medium term.

We - Forest fans - are far too accepting of mediocrity.
And the local media - radio, TV & newspaper - will never ask a telling question.

Got me wondering what would happen if a football club owner tried to treat scouse fans with similar disdain.
There’d be rioting in the streets.

I exaggerate to make a point but - on the field of play - we are in exactly the same league position as when Fawaz departed three and a half years ago.

We won two games and all this stopped now we have lost 3 and it starts again. Very bad timing with an important game tonight.

Agree and agree. Why didn't he publish yesterday? The players will be reading this today as they rest up. It might only be a small consideration to them but I know for sure it'll definitely do no good.
