Not sure what any of the last twelve posts have to do with the subject of the thread, apologies for perpetuating.

Seems like every thread at the moment is about Vrentzos or recruitment!!

Trying to get us back on track then, will CH persist with the two strikers (or one and a half depending how you look at it) tomorrow night? I don't think so. Guerroro struggled on Sunday, Lolley didnt do any better in that position and Freeman is out of the picture. I cant imagine he'd want to Start young Swan. So for me he'll go back to 4-5-1. Hope he's had chance to work at it because for me Taylor is lost on his own up there unlike Grabban who is excellent on his own.

I have to disagree that Grabban is excellent on his own up front. He is an excellent box striker (which Taylor isn't), but isn't great at holding up play. IMO
 
I do agree with you that CH will probably go 451 tomorrow to try to limit Watford.

I respectfully disagree about Grabban chap. He spent all last season running and running on his own up top. He can take the ball under pressure from the defender (as he's strong) and lay it off. He was excellent in that role. Despite his goals I actually think he's an fairly average box player. He misses an awful lot of chances. Its usually the ones where he has to think before he shoots that he misses. But he'd be in my team ahead of Taylor if we're playing just one striker. 

Bringing it back to the manager, CH's got a problem tomorrow. Guerro had a really poor last game and Grabban's injured. CH has been complaining about us not being offensive enough. How does he play 1 striker and not have him isolated enough so we can be a goal threat against a really decent side? As I said earlier, I hope they've been working on something these last few days because if they haven't the best we can hope for is a 0-0.

I don’t understand the obsession with recruitment. There’s not much wrong with the squad considering what a club of our size can afford. As Sniff says, we can’t afford to do what clubs like Bournemouth and Swansea do and sign 11 McKennas. Grosicki would have helped, as would a fit Worrall and Grabban. I also don’t get the criticism of Christie. People don’t seem to understand that we had to replace a Premier League standard player with a Championship standard player. What else were Forest meant to do?

It’s the pecking order in the Championship in 2020, whoever we sign. Smaller clubs like Forest have to overachieve to get in the top six.

We’re talking about the Championship - not the Premier League.

I meant financially. We are competing with clubs with parachute payments, substantially higher income and (almost) Premier League squads. Our revenue is highly dependent on ticket sales and is middle to lower half of the table. If you split the Championship into two in terms of finances we are in the lower half, hence “smaller” club.

I agree about Grabban. One of his biggest strengths is his hold up play. We’ve missed him imo.

Spot on, he wasn't my first choice, I would have preferred Paul Cook to Hughton, but we have Hughton in charge for the time being, I can see him walking because what ever is wrong I honestly don't think he can fix it.

Hughton is averaging 1.08 points per game.

How long will Marinakis tolerate that level of return?

What does the PPG have to look like by, say 31 December, to give them comfort to allow him more time?

Carry on with that rate of return we will have accumulated 20 points from 22 games (pretty much half the season gone) by 31 December, which will make us one of the clear favourites for relegation.

If we maintain that level of return until the transfer window closes we will have 26 points from 28 games
