Evangelos Marinakis And Co
It's not just the campaign by the bell in Canada though Tricky. Have you seen all the vitriol on the twitter account of Adonis?
Absolutely disgusting. Some say our club is rotten to the core but I think some of our fans are rotten to the core is more realistic.

Our fans are amongst the worst in the country. A bunch of self entitled delusion babies who, because the club won something a hundred years ago, expect to be competing with the best. In reality, they are fans of a thoroughly average second tier football which reeks of mediocrity and failure.

Agreed mate. Many need a reality check.

You are basically asking a bunch of average players, bar the odd exception, to take responsibility for being average?

The manager is doing what the manager does. Any expectation to the contrary is naive. Surely they did their homework on Hughton and knew what they were getting?

I also don’t buy this “be careful what you wish for” scaremongering that’s being perpetuated.

We have been in the Championship long before EM arrived. We have signed a lot of players who have proved themselves in the Championship. Not sure what you are on about. Plus you don't mention anything about some players not putting a shift in. Surely you are not defending that are you? Even if a player is so called avarage (which most players in our league are) that is no excuse not to put a shift in.

Who’s not putting a shift in Sniffer?

Genuine question.

It was something Hodgey said yesterday mate. I have total respect for Steve Hodge and if he says that some are not putting a shift in or words to that effect then I sit up and take note. He didn't name names.

Worrying when an ex pro such as Harry feels it necessary to make that comment. Suggests a few interesting conversations at the training ground required - both as a group & individually.

Indeed TPL.

I’ve watched every minute this season and have not witnessed anyone not doing the hard stuff.

Same here, I'd be interested to know who he was referring to as I have not seen that this season.

We overachieved last year and lost our best two players from that season. Plus our top scorer and captain to injury, always going to be tough. The replacements haven't worked so far but because they're average players.

Harsh to say from Hodge, players like.Yates, Taylor even Knockaert put a shift in yesterday IMO

Yes I think this is pretty fair, basically saying if they don't overachieve they've failed.

I think the short term nature of our transfer windows is what frustrates most. Whilst its good that the investment is there (at least in some windows) the continued attempt to put together a promotion team in one season is frustrating.

On paper once again IMO the majority of the signings made sense if you're trying to get promoted this season. However given how last season ended was that a realistic goal? Would it not have been better to acknowledge how average the squad was and that we overachieved last year rather than repeatedly publicly setting playoffs as a goal.

For me this is the major issue that is costing us. Our best chance of success is building a team to have a go once every couple of years using a base of academy players to supplement the squad. Repeatedly outwardly stating the aim of promotion, building unnecessary pressure and expectation, despite not being able to compete on budget with the top sides is silly.

I want the ownership to stay and make a success of it. Hopefully they do and the stadium plans come to fruition. Just think a realignment of targets would help. Acceptance this season is gone, allow CH to plan for next season this window would give us a realistic shot of going for it next year when hopefully we can actually be there.

We'll see whether they take that approach or keep going for journeymen signings to try and achieve an unrealistic promotion charge in Jan.
