A Maximum Of 4,000 Fans To Be Allowed At Outdoor Sports Events

It might just work itself out... for example...

I'm a Season Ticket holder for Sporting Kansas City in the MLS. The stadium,  Children's Mercy Park holds 18,500. There are 14,000 Season Ticket holders according to Wikipedia. They determined they were comfortable (team not league) with 18% capacity... roughly 3,330. I've been a Season ticket holder for 10 years... my daughter and Son in Law for 2... both 2 tickets. They decided to award tickets based on a lottery game by game. Evidently many opted out including myself. My Daughter was able to get tickets for all the home games one game at a time.  Her Team Rep.  called each game to see if they were interested after said lottery. I attended a game with her a month ago and guess there were probably 1,500 people... that's because I went to our first Playoff game Sunday and there were quite a few more in attendance... assuming 3,330.

So it's possible those who really want to attend matches will be able to... who knows. This is the US... maybe a bit different...somehow Trump became President. Fortunately we're returning to the Universe we know and Love in January!

I'm not a season card holder but I have followed the past 9 months with interest regarding how the club has treated its season card holders. I just have an almighty sense of knowing those muppets at the ticket office are gonna f**k this all up big time i'm afraid!

I can see where families who have season cards will be offered to attend individually, leaving say a 7 year old to attend on his/her own. Or, as someone as mentioned in a previous post, an elderly season card holder, who relies on support from others, will be offered the chance to attend on their own, despite them not being able to. In these instances, the club have a legal duty to ensure those with disabilities, which includes the elderly, are not discriminated against by their ability to attend (or not able to attend) matches (The Equalities Act).

Not so much less of a fan, just think it'd be a nice show of thanks for the loyalty over the years.

Sorry, but if you've spent 50 years supporting the club and putting thousands upon thousands of pounds into it, you're further in front of the queue than a 16 y/o with his first ST IMO.

I opted for option2. The thought of being in City ground with max of 4k other fans, no singing leaves me cold. That's not why I enjoy going to games. I will happily wait until the ground is opened up and we can return properly.

I do welcome however the govt plans to re-introduce a smaller number of fans at the moment. I think it can be done safely and fully respect those fans who feel differently to me and want to attend.

Since lockdown I've been to both Radford and Carlton Town, enjoyed a different match day, usually with beer in hand while watching!

You say “not so much less” then directly contradict it.

I’ve also spent tens of thousands of pounds over many years, following Forest, that doesn’t give me any more right than anyone else. In fact I’ve been fortunate to witness better times than said 16 year old.

The two lads who sat next to me were in their teens and went to every game pre lockdown home and away. It was their second season as a season ticket holder. They shouldn’t be treated lesser due to their age.

With that argument I could say if you’re over 50 you shouldn’t be allowed in because you’ve less to offer the club financially over your remaining life span compared to someone thirty years your junior.

Agreed, circumstances dictate for so many that it needs to just be random. That said agree with mentioned previously by our American based super fan, I suspect there won't be loads more than 4,000 applying.

Despite the reports and MPs like Steve Baker saying g otherwise, most people are still being very safe. Particularly those either older or in regular contact with elder or more vulnerable relatives/friends. Therefore whilst I think they'll fill the seats I dont think there'll be massive excess demand right now and I suspect we'll need those 16 year olds to fill the seats!

I'm 31 and I dont intend to go yet (I claimed the refund) as I would be going with my Dad and dont want him putting himself at risk. Although given we'd be travelling by car, I think the risk would be fairly minimal actually. Given the vaccine news though, happy just to wait till next year. Seems silly to take more risks now when we're so close to a safer scenario

Just thought it'd be a nice gesture. You disagree, fair enough. But nothing you say has changed my mind.

Like I say, I don't see it as downgrading other fans, I see it as celebrating long standing fans.

In my opinion it's not yet safe to attend. I'm a (former) main stand ST holder along with my oap Dad. Even with say 1000 people in that stand there's no way you could keep your distance in that concourse, have a pee, get a drink etc whilst keeping your distance. Then there's the transport issue to the stadium etc etc. We'll likely not be attending any games until we're both immunised, which is probably going to mean the entire season now. Possibly a few games at the end of the season if they're meaningful ones.

We're ex ST holders because of the club's pause in selling the Main Stand tickets for this season. Lockdown then came before we renewed and we decided it'd be a farce to hand over 7 or 8 hundred quid for something we couldn't use.  I'm hoping that the club don't turn their backs on us when it comes to buying next season's tickets. I'll be pissed off if they don't offer us the renewal price to buy for next season. It was, after all, their pause that put us this position.

But not if it results in any increase in the number of cases.
I’m as avid a fan as anyone that I know - but I won’t be attending any games until I’ve been given a vaccine.
Hopefully that could be within the next 3 months.

Agreed, I`m in the same frame of mind, this virus has left me feeling scared just for myself but my wife and loved ones also, my wife and myself have had this bloody virus and I am still struggling to shake off the effects of it, so I think I will be waiting until I too have been given a vaccine, then hopefully I would feel confident about attending a game or two.

But it is nice to see something happening in regards of getting fans back into the grounds, onwards and upwards.
