If the owner of an opponent had spat when the referee had walked by him we would be calling it disgusting and demanding a ban.
Sorry if thats what he’s done then EM deserves what he gets
No sympathy at all, dont care about “well he's Greek he gets all emotional” nonsense.
Having said all that, I have to admit that the FA publication on Spitgate is absolutely hilarious.
So let's get this right then, it's OK for the FA to release details of what happened in my opinion should be kept between Forest and the FA but if anyone at Forest diagrees with it and say something about it undoubtedly we'd get another fine. So SM what would you want the owner to be like then perhaps a vicar or a choir boy with no passion for the club. It just seems you and a couple of others are turning against the big man who by your posts seems to do something wrong every week. Can I see a change of team to support because the big man is here for the long haul and you'll be moaning about him every week which kinda gets boring some times. EM isn't going to change so embrace it I'd say.
You should take your rose tinted specs off. Spitting in the stride of someone is an aggressive and delplorable act, regardless of circumstance. And anyway, some unfortunate soul has got to clean that floor after he's gobbed all over it.
I like Marinakis very much (I was backing him on here when many weren't) but he's pushing acceptable boundaries for me now and someone needs to be advising him to back off.
So let all footballers, rugby players and alot of other sportspeople get done for it as well then but they don’t. Trouble is the league hasn't had an owner like ours before so the acceptable boundaries your saying about is all new to the league because no owner has had the balls to do what EM is doing. What will you do if he doesn't change then ?
So if you were walking down the street and someone gobbed in front of you in your direction you'd be ok with that would you? You'd think that's fine and put it down to a cultural difference? What if you were inside a building and someone did it?
And the sportsmen you mention aren't gobbing at their opponents, or the ref, as digusting as that is. Can you remember when Podence gobbed at one of our players a year or so ago? Fans and players alike were universally outraged.
EM can tweet what he wants, spit at who he wants but I can assure you if he carries on as he is his time in our game will be over and it'll be us fans who suffer . You can't win a fight like that in this country.

So what can you do about it because it happens every day well it does in Newark anyway by the horrible little feckers that hang about in the town center.
Players spit at players all the time from grassroots to professionals you just need to look because it is reported.
In all honesty what can the FA do with an owner who won't or can't change I'd put money on not alot.

An entitled billionaire who doesn't like it when challenged. Who would have thought it.
Right or wrong, excessive or fair, it's just power struggles.
I love the big man but he's put a target on the clubs head and we are going to have to take this on the chin and try to rein it in.
Billionaires usually lobby laws, policy and funding in governments and they are used to getting what they want.
I think our treatment has been excessive but we've also gone for the jugular of the authorities.

He'll get a hefty fine next and then the club will get a points deduction if it happens again. And every other transgression will get hammered too. No way will the FA allow its refs to be abused like this. The example it sets is terrible. He needs to back off and control his emotions. I hope he can.

I said at the start of the season I had 3 wishes
1. Mid table
2. Playing like a team who belongs in the PL
3. Quiet off the pitch
Well we have the first 2 and some. We have our highest league position since 1995. This is what we should be celebrating.
Yet we and more importantly the media are talking about enormous fines, players and managers suspended and now our owner spitting.
Quite frankly its getting embarrassing. No its not passion.
We know the PL is a 2 tier league. It is for another 14 clubs but they aren’t all behaving like we are.
Forest are not going to change the system by acting like petulant children.

If you read the full decison they discount that he was coughing. CCTV didn't indicate any cough. He neither put his hand to his mouth nor turned away.
I don't like the abuse the Big Man is getting now in the media. I think he is genuinely misunderstood to be honest but this episode makes him look terrible.

I am not going to defend EM but I do believe his punishment is over the top.
Compared to Fawaz stealing the FA Cup and Scholar and Soar stealing treasured memorabilia from the club I can live with it.
I am a bit disappointed with what EM did but he stopped short of storming onto the pitch with a gun in his hand like the PAOK owner recently did and don't get me started on ex Fulham owner Al Fayed etc.
Is EM perfect? No he is not.
But are we lucky to have him? Yes we are.

Yes think that’s fair Sniffer. I do think the FA are out to make an example of EM because they don’t like how we are behaving in other aspects. Thats why if we want to change the system we need to complain when justified and not give the FA an opportunity to paint us as the dislikable club.
Anyway for heavens sake can we go back to talking about football.

Big EM will now be known throughout football as the owner that spits at referees. What a lovely tag to hold.
I've just been listening to Talksport where he was being talked about. An ex- policeman came on and said being spat at felt worse that being physically assaulted.
He's really let himself down here. I just hope he's not becoming disillusioned with the game in this country. He'll already be aware that the stitched-up system prevents clubs like his from being successful. We don't need him being pushed out.

Not defending EM but lets not lose track of the fact that he spat on the floor downwards and not upwards towards the officials.
There is a big difference.
