I heard the press release on Radio Notts this morning. Forest have a bright future. But the release of good news was coupled with Nott's financial jeopardy. They're in deep, deep trouble.

I hope they can stay up and survive, I think the only club I would maybe snigger at if they did cease to exist would be mk dons

Are the flats, retail unit etc. related to Marinakis' ownership? Or just happen to be related to developing the rest of the area? Or are Forest in partnership with the overall development?
Either way, I'm glad it's not just the Taylor stand. The vision is about a total refurb for world class ground.

I’m not working on the project directly. There have been early discussions with planning. The issues of rights to light have been considered and there appears to be a workable solution.

The hotel, flats & new mega store are all part of the development, this is a very big project.
I see. So this is about more than the refurb dev' of the City Ground, 'we're' involved in the dev' of the area as a whole..?

This adds a broader vision to the City Ground in a 'wide screen' development of the whole area. That just adds weight and excitement to the project.
This is the kind of infrastructure project Nottingham needs. Birmingham can keep it's Bull ring, and Derby Leicester their flat packs on an old industrial crisp packet.

I was wondering about the 'right to light' issue and the 'odd shape' of the Bridgeford stand. With innovative architecture they should get around that.
The design looks stunning from a distance. Hope planning goes through.

Both statements refer to "The New City Ground", are they slightly renaming the ground too, like "The New Den" etc?
