I thought Spurs were paying for Jonno in instalments.

We had a debate on here about it a few weeks ago due to some loan we had to take out and we were out of pocket due to the interest and we were basically paying the loan back with the instalments from Spurs? Or summat like that???

I dunno! I'll just slip back into my corner and shurrup!!

No idea about our specific arrangement Tricky but I do know that for FFP purposes the fee counted as profit up front.
To be clear its the FFP bit that’s the important part. EM isn’t brassic, we couldn’t spend further because of FFP limits.

Yep, in accounting terms it's considered pure profit regardless of the cash flow. Cash flow and Balance sheets are very different, you can often have scenarios where there is money to spend but no actual physical cash to make the moves. Hence why clubs willl take loans against future cash flows, like a sale of a player in installments. Sometimes paying more up front will also get you a smaller fee as the other team wouldn't have to take a loan for example.
