I have never been keen on CH although, as with any manager, happy to get behind them and hope they do well.
The points above about Ch at newcastle, birmingham, brighton are all excellent points but sadly irrelevent. He may well have done well at those clubs playing attacking free scoring football but we can only go on what he does here.
At no point would i attribute the failings of last season on him. The signings made last summer ensured we had a poor unbalanced squad. CH kept us up. Could he have made it more comfortable... i believe so.
But we go on his performance now and compare it to the last year.
We dont look like scoring the goals to get us promoted. And we wont setting up like we do. He persists with the 2dcm home and away and that is stifiling any creativity. We just dont create enough. Its like he is scared to let the team play.
Playing against 10 men, 25 minutes to go and losing 2-1. Perfect opportunity to go for it. Ok bournemouth looked dangerous but thats because we allowed them to. That was CH decision and one that cost us.
Picking players on merit. If carv had played like johnson did yesterday people would have been writing him off. Samba responsible for at least 2 goals in 2 games costing us points. The persistant playing of figs last season when he was, for the most part, terrible. He had Soh who could have played. Picking colback and yates together now 2 games in a row when its clear it is ineffective. Dropping mighten and playing lolley who was poor agains cov and poor yesterday.
Playing grabban last seaso was understandable when the alternative was taylor. They were both poor. But to have a player so bang out of form and make them captain was a joke
CH needs to start picking players on their form and performance rather than precious history.
CH has been a wonderful manager in the past. He is a great bloke by all accounts. His tactics and set up have cost us in the last, have cost us this season and will again unless he allows a little more freedom in the way we play.
I dont want to read the stats from CH previous jobs. I want to see him produce something here. He has had, barring 3 games, a whole season.
I have had time to sleep on yesterdays result. Whilst i wouldnt be unhappy to see CH go i would rather he get it right here. People will call for patience and state that there is 2 weeks of the window left. But lets say we lose on wednesday and fail to win the next 2 or 3. The season could already be about fighting at the wrong end.

The problem with a thread like this is that it only compounds the negativity of the match day thread.
It's always the manager's fault. Maybe he could have brought on the subs earlier. I doubt it would have made any difference to the goals that Samba conceded at both his near posts. If you let goals like that in? You're not going to win. You have to score 3 to win. And even if Warburton was here (who's doing well at QPR, by the way, with fans / hierarchy who seem to be more patient with him...)
Why should bottom 8 beat a play off team that has a squad from many years in the Premier? Is that rational?
Bournemouth have a young striker. We're still waiting since we bought Grabban to supplement him with younger legs. How many other teams do that? Well before Hughton's time.
I have no doubts in Hughton. But I do in Samba. Two soft goals. And in tight games? That makes the difference. Bournemouth didn't beat Forest 5-1. Forest got back into the game. But a soft goal from a patched defence and a soft keeper. Recruitment let two LBs go. (But have yet to replace them.)
This only seems to happen at Forest.
It's only two games into the season. But we've started again with our pants down. Our new CEO is going to find it's harder to walk the talk at Forest.
When was the last time Forest actually started a season well? Under Psycho? And didn't we get some good signings? Didn't we have a striker with legs? Didn't we have a powerful winger?
It's easy to blame the manager when we didn't get the new CEO in sooner. It dragged on and you add in a slow market. It doesn't change the fact Forest let 14 players go and have 2 key CHs out. That's 16 players down. So I don't want to hear about Bournemouth losing 8. We haven't replaced many of the players we let go (and the key signings of Garner and Krov' only rub salt into the wounds, definitely have missed both...) and that striker. We've been waiting for how long now?
It's only 2 games in the league. And the mood swing from the Bradford result is palpable.

In that there are now 3 threads devoted to being negative about the manager of Nottingham Forest. I'd rather he be given his time to bring in his players (only two outfield so far...) but the damage recruitment did to let players go and not replace has been instrumental in both results. Without further reinforcements I think Forest will do well to win a game. 'We need to recruit.' Hughton after yesterday's game. So?
What's recruitment doing about it? The new CEO needs to pull his finger out and replace the two LBs we let go.
He got a striker in at Barnsley, but he can't at Forest? I'm beginning to have my doubts about the new CEO.

Randall stated in his interview yesterday that targets they are looking at were more likely to come here towards the end of the window, as opposed to over the next week or so.
So to me that suggests we have targets, Hughton is happy with them, and it's all the "transfer domino", red tape and due process which is holding things up.

I know its to early in the season, but in all probability the inevitable sacking will happen and I think it will be performances and fan pressure that brings about change. Bite the bullet early and bring in someone like Eddie Howe who plays football and can get you out of this division with a young progressive team that we appear to be building.

Eddie Howe's never a realistic target for us. Michael Appleton might have been in with a look-in, but his recent health issues could mean he proves to be a big gamble.
