Be good to have a model that conditions agents that we maybe Nottingham Forest but we are no longer the wages gravey train like before. The plan should be you come in low and prove your worth and if you do that your wages go up, same for those you come through the young ranks.
We can get behind that if the club cuts its cloth and sticks with it for the long haul instead of chopping and changing.

Yes we all know that Vrentzos was far from perfect in his roll of CEO but if Dane thinks that someone with much more experience than himself and with loads more contacts in the game than himself can assist and help him in some deals then where is the problem?
Dane would be a fool to turn down such an offer especially when he's only been in the job for five minutes.

It's an entire recruitment team. It's all hands on deck from the CEO, Mr. V to Manager, Gary, the guy from Wigan, Scouts etc.
Why wouldn't people at Forest cooperate.
Dane did make the point that everyone has to pull in the same direction.

Try doing your job when you haven't signed any permanent outfield players in a year and have to wait for 'last minute shopping' before you get your players in and you start the season without fullbacks and you've shipped 4 games at a cost of 12 points. He played the youth. They got battered for 12 points and thrown out the cup. It's not rocket science, we don't need Danny to tell us that Garner and Worrall back in the team gets you a point.
'A bit broken.' Hughton cleared up the shattered and broken and 'lauded' Sabri's teaming pile of Mr. V recruitment didn't he? The Sabri experiment has been forgotten very quickly. All the players have been thrown out, expensive players who played stale ball very mediocrely. He gave Sabri far too much credit for improving players and cited one example, Cash. Did he sign him? Putting him at RB wasn't nothing not previously talked about. Cash's initial performances where ropey. (Sabri did put Watson in the 'slow legs' role which came off for him.)
Naturally, I don't agree with Danny on Hughton. At all.

Most managers who are out of work stay out of work for a while. I'm not surprised given the kicking fans and press give you. If you want football that isn't bland or attritional you have to recruit good players. (Not anything new. Peter Taylor is on record saying that many moons ago.)
You can say that, Danny Boy. Sabri got lucky with Cash at RB, Warburton already knew he had a chance of playing there. Sabri wasn't a genius that discovered something not already known. Sabri got lucky that Sow's two runs in the team provided the fulcrum.
Nobody likes anyone looking over their shoulder doing 'learning walks.' That's the nature of upper management.
I don't think Danny told us much we didn't already know on this forum with the info' we get from Sniff' and others. *Shrugs.
We know they tried and we sit bottom and that we need another Plan B.

I agree Sniff. It is a bit odd in any organisation if you take over someones old job but they are there in the background looking over your shoulder. But if there is a positive environment it can obviously be a benefit if there is someone to lean on for a bit of help and advice.
Back to DT another thing he did rubbish was the twitter rumour about Murphy walking out.

Brereton's not a bad signing though. He's several years younger than Carvalho, and is already establishing himself way more.
He's 3 goals from 5 games this season, and if a club came knocking for him now Blackburn would prob be asking 10m+. I'll be surprised if Carvalho is ever valued at 3m more than we paid for him.
Few clubs have made as many bad signings as us over the past few years. The hit rate has been woeful, the money spent on some of those players shocking, and the overall strategy abysmal. It's largely why we are relegation fodder.

Yes but Vrentzos is not even looking over Dane's shoulder because he's now almost always in Athens. I can't see a problem with Dane picking up the phone though if he feels the need.
I mean there may be a case where Dane fancies a player but he's unsure of or doesn't have a good relationship with the player's agent for example. So why not pick up the phone and ask Vrentzos?
This is just an example of the type of reason why it's good to have Vrentzos still around in some capacity. I doubt there are many with a better contact list of player's and agents than Vrentzos. We would be daft not to use it.
