Not being funny here but does anyone know how many goals Grabban has scored in his last 20 appearances?

He was putting himself about a bit, better at holding the ball up / winning balls in the air. But he was isolated, it was a thankless task.

What do we gain from dropping him after less than 90 minutes?

I just read a Daniel Taylor piece on David Platt, apparently Platt is very honest about making mistakes at Forest. He said one mistake was switching between Freedman & Harewood which just resulted in neither of them feeling they had the managers confidence. Danger of that here, at least for Taylor? Or danger of both strikers losing confidence in their manager?

Isnt that the same for any player if there is squad rotation? Think different games will suit either Grabban or Taylor. Need at least one of them to find the scoring touch again.

Grabban has scored 8 in the last 20 games but only 4 goals since January.

8 in 20 is par for the course for a decent return. I’m amazed he gets the goals he does in our system. Put him in the Leeds or Fulham side from last year and he would have got 30...

I don’t think that stat will actually do him justice.

No Championship player with the level, and just as importantly type, of service would be able to consistently provide a high return of goals.

Spot on.

8 in 20 is actually very good all things considered.

Could he have had more: Yes, absolutely.

Are there many in the Championship that would have matched his return in his specific circumstances: No

8 in 20.
Equiv to about 18 in a full season.
I’ll take that again.

It's always been there. There's something about him that a section of our fans just don't like. Remember the season before last when he was playing injured and people were suggesting he couldn't be arsed to run or even jump for headers? He spent the entirety of last season chasing down and running the hard yards on his own up front as the one & only senior forward in the the club, scored 20 goals ontop of that and what thanks does he get from the fans? None, just criticism.

He’s a big boy now and unlikely to be bothered by what fans think...
he will be back firing at some point. I think the idea with Taylor is to rest Grabban more- with Taylor ready to come on at 70 minutes... and rotate the two when 3 games in a week. Hopefully over the course of a season we get a fitter grabban who has played 30-40 matches rather than 45-50.

As with most of our transfers makes sense on paper.

I wouldn't be so sure, individuals can be quite complex and some need to feel loved.

The manager gets all the stick but there are 1 or 2 players who have been just as shit as the manager these past few months.

I am sure Lewis is a big boy and he will be the first to admit that his form could have been a lot better these last few months.

Am I allowed to say that or is only Yates, Figs and the manager allowed to be slated.
