Cash and Watson no longer at the club and Worrall out with a broken foot. Figs needed to be rested and it is a strong argument that Grabban needed a kick up the arse too! But Riberio, Yates, Mighten, all did enough to warrant staying in the side from the previous match.
I am not going to rave about Ioannu as I know nothing about him, but what I have seen of Blackett, I sincerely hope he is an upgrade. People have been hopping up and down banging on about the likes of Christie and Blackett, but I fail to understand why. Blackett was allowed to leave a Reading side that struggled badly for the best part of last season (is it a coincidence that they are unbeaten this season so far?) and the filth down the road didn't want Christie 3 years ago. Colback didn't play at all last season, yet loads are expecting him to be the same as he was on his last game for us. Seriously? I still think Darikwa should be given an opportunity to show he is still go to play. If his injury has slowed him down to the extent that he can no longer do a job for us, then at least we gave him a chance.
What about Taylor? Well I feel he is certainly more capable of doing the dirty work in the opposition half, which we have missed a lot of in the past. I would like to think he will come even better for us in the not too distant future. Freeman, just like Grabban, he isnt being given enough of the ball in the right areas, in fact he is being expected to play in the wrong areas for a striker. Not on in the box, but out on the wing?
I do like Mbe Soh and McKenna. They both showed maturity and a sense of calm while others were losing their S**t.
But these are all new players, learning a new style to the one they are familiar with, with a group of players they are not familiar with and in some cases in a country they are not familiar with. Sabri was the one who spoke to them, encouraged them to join our club, tried to sell them the project. They may just be starting to buy into that project. Get rid of Sabri, and not only do the new lads have to start again, but the whole team does.
So to recap, I am not going to vote. I would like to see Sabri have until two or three weeks after the international break to turn things around. I would like to see a new formation tried though and a bit of consistency in the team selections once this is set up. And if, after all of that nothing has improved, then I will eat humble pie and wave au revoir to Mnsr Lambouchi knowing that at least we gave him every possible chance.

^ if only Sabri were that flexible. He has proved himself to be rigid in his thinking & unwilling to embrace change. I rate the chances of him changing as low to zero ^

I am also undecided about this. After last night’s game I wished Lamouchi was gone.
After some reflection I am tempted to give him one more match to see if can provide evidence of improvement. That would mean beating Bristol City or seeing a competitive nil nil draw.
I am not at all optimistic that this will happen.

i'm still despairing, i'd take a stand in Brazil effect Arsenal performance for sure
put someone in from the back room staff, hope for the bounce, get the bounce, when/if the bounce flattens out make a proper appointment
the problem is that anyone in demand or can afford to be choosy ... will they choose us? I mean will they want to be 'coach', let alone an NFFC 'coach' with strange guys in flasher macs sitting in the dug out with their c**k out?

I can’t believe he is still here. I don’t like seeing anybody lose their job. Sabri has shown nothing to me that he can turn this around or change his style of play.
This league is more wide open than ever and we have a very decent squad. The weak link is the manager.

I think Sabri should be given 2 or 3 more matches at least. In those games I would not necessarily expect victories but there does need to be a significant improvement in performances. Wins will follow if performances improve. I have been a big supporter of Sabri but his critics are right that he needs to show more attacking intent. In my opinion it was a mistake last night to select A midfield of Colback, Arter and Sow. Sow looked way off the pace and even if fit he is not a creative influence. Not sure what is going on with Jao but he can provide a spark in the final third. If not him then lthe manager needs to get Lolley performing again. Blackett did not look comfortable at left back.

Whenever you get to that stage you're a dead man walking and things historically never work out. May as well give a new boss an extra week.

This is a very good post.
I too can’t call for the manager to go.
I do wonder how much damage could be done to us by the international break if we give him that long? Would it write the season off?

Just read your post Tricky and agree with what you have written on the whole.
Despite my reservations around the "proven Championship players" we keep signing and having 3 in midfield, I think we have to hold our nerve and trust that the players we have will come good.
As many have said, where has changing the manager mid season got us in most of the last 20 years? The 3 top 7 finishes (I know I know 7th place is worthless) that we have achieved in Championship were all with the same manager that started the season.
Just need those couple of wins (and goals) to get us going.......hopefully.

I would give him 6 more games to at least show some progress but I do think that is hopelessly optimistic, if the decision hasnt been made already it will be if we lose again next weekend.

Ok.... this season we have played 4 games. Won 0, drew 0 and lost 4. We have conceded 6 goals and scored 0. This is not just a bad start... this is, in itself, unforgivable. Performances have been poor whether he has played minimal new signings or a whole host of changes (a la Friday).
If it were just these 4 games, despite how bad it’s been, I would agree and give him a few more games.
Let’s look at the bigger picture. Since 1st January we have played 27 games... winning 7 of those drawing 9 and losing 11... 30 points from a possible 81. However, since we beat Leeds we have played 19, won 3, drew 7 lost 9... 16 points from a possible 57.
Fact is, this isn’t just a 4 game run of poo form. This is relegation form over a sustained period of time. If we give sabri 6 more games the season will be well and truest over and we may face a worrying relegation battle. Our team is better than most if not all in this league but confidence is low... give it 6 more games and confidence could be shot completely making it near impossible to recover.
There has been no change of tactics over this run of 27 games or in fact since he took over. Even when we change formation the tactics are the same. Formation will not alter performance his approach to the games will.
Sabri needs to go... if he had anything about him he Would do the right Thing and walk.
But yes let’s let him continue to destroy this season like he did the 2nd half of last.
