Exactly, and no one forced him to take the job.

Yep, same as Appiah. Signed a long-term deal and was gone within months.

Problem is with youth - it would be great to have all our homegrown in a side together but championship is brutal and needs a smattering of experience. They are an essential source of income for us and we have sold well so far - Brererton and Appiah were sold at excellent prices. Appiah may well develop into a brilliant footballer but he isn’t yet and we need £ whilst we are in the championship.

As a prem side we may well be able to loan and keep our better youngsters like these...

Ties Mighten down if we wish to keep him.
Increases his market value to us given that he has signed for 5 years.
Win Win.

Yep, makes sure we get a good fee for him if needed.

Yes. Good move by the club. Makes perfect sense.

I see Derby got away with having points deductions then And found a few more loopholes to invest money into the club. Perhaps our owners should look at investment loopholes as well
Everyone is entitled to my opinion - COYR  :)

They may not want/be able to!

The ground is a leasehold and has limited value due to the covenant added recently. I suppose the development of the ground And surrounding area could see a one off opportunity to sell the lease/ground/property to an associated party to then rent back to the club injecting a one off payment.

Mad Mel and derby have played the system so fair play to them.

FFP should be scrapped and replaced with investment guaranteed and secured so no debt is loaded onto the club.
