NFFC Financial Talk
Lots of questions about how much budget we have for new players / having to sell existing players. And I'm a bit bored. So...

There's financial data but its always a year behind. I'll look up what's been released for past seasons, but I can knock together a spreadsheet to estimate the wage costs and transfer fee costs for the season just gone & next season.

I've gone through the squad on the official website and on transfermarkt. Add any names you can think of that are missing (players who have left will have an effect too). I took transfer fees from transfermarkt too. If you 'know' (are aware of reported numbers of transfer fees that look wrong or especially wages, or loan fees) let me know, and I'll add them and tot up the numbers...

Player                       Transfer fee      Wages
Brice Samba              1.89
Jordan Smith             0
Yuri Ribeiro               ???
Tobias Figueiredo      2.07
Joe Worrall               0
Gaetan Bong            0.45
Carl Jenkinson          1.98
Michael Dawson       0
Tendayi Darikwa       0.99
Yohan Benalouane    ???
Michael Hefele         0.297
Ben Watson             0
Joao Carvalho         13.5
Matty Cash              0
Sammy Ameobi       0
Samba Sow            0.63
Ryan Yates             0
Joe Lolley               0.54
Tiago Silva             ???
Brennan Johnson    0
Lewis Grabban       6.12
Nuno Da Costa       1.8
Tyler Walker           0
Zac Clough            2.61
Alex Mighten          0
Costel Pantilimon    ???
Luke Steele             0
Alfa Semedo          loan fee?
Liam Bridcutt         0.99
Albert Adomah       0
Muric                   loan fee?
Night Mir              loan fee?

Thanks Stirred, will be interesting, or at least it will be for geeks like me!

As Im sure you kniw SwissRamble does a very good analysis of our financial matters. I also posted players wages (which may or may not be accurate) on another thread yesterday. 2018 wages a staggering £28M

2018 total income was around £23 M excluding player sales, would expect last season to be a bit higher.
The spanner in everyones works of course is Covid. If no crowds for next season that would create a big dent, would estimate at least £5M even if a significant number take up iFollow. Forest off the field commercial activities are embarrassingly useless but what we have will take a hit too.

like the list of costs Stirred, there's almost a tragic symmetry, the more we paid the worse they are! Some absolute bargains though like Lolley, Sow and the home growns like Cash, Mighten, Yates and Worrall. But this aspect is only a small part of the collective problem, unless much of the fees are still owed.

Don't forget the potential 18m salary cap they are discussing...

Wages were leaked on line recently.

Some big bucks going out on non playing players. Muric and Diakhaby were 20k!!! a week each.

Even Jordan Smith, back up keeper 2900 a week! That's 150k a year. Good work if you can get it!

Taking on Benalouane contract from Leicester was expensive 30k a week. If we lose Worrall though, he is an ideal replacement if fit, though I'd be happy to see him alongside Worrall. If not going to be involved then he has to go somehow.

The wage bill needs to be trimmed somehow, but who will want most of our non playing players? May have to pay half or more of wages to get them out on loan.

With Sabri staying, (great news)it looks like the end of Carvalhos time with us (bad news). Shame really.

All the loan players gone, none offered much really, would sooner have seen young lads playing. Watson crucial, but was on 20k a week, so needs to be looked at.  Cant keep spunking 20-30k a week (1-1.5million a yr) on players who are not even in the squad anymore. Another good argument for keeping same manager I believe.

The longer we keep a manager, the less deadwood we will have on the sidelines.

Interesting times ahead.

Those look to be inaccurate too - if contract end dates are wrong why should the weekly wages be accurate.

the wages being 'leaked' from a computer game FM20, now that did make me laugh, now this is quality, if this thread maintains this level of quality it's gonna be up there with some of Sniffers transfer rumours from last summer

Notts CCC cannot - of course - be compared to Forest in financial terms & the effects of COVID.
Interesting to note though that - Forest ( alongside all other clubs ) charged £10 per match to access IFollow. In contrast I can watch every minute of the 4 day game on my iPad or laptop at no cost.
Makes me scratch my head.
