I'm in two minds about him staying personally. I love the fact he kept us in or around the play offs all season but the team selection for Barnsley was baffling and the capitulation last night was just awful.

Prefer to keep Sabri but can understand it if the big man pulls the trigger.
But the recruitment team have had a shocker - someone needs to be in his ear.
Give Dyche whatever it takes.
I know it's not what people want to hear, but the owner can't give a manager whatever it takes. He already funds losses to that allowed by FFP.
The only club that finished in the top 6 that don't have a massively greater revenue than us is Brentford, who consistently bought well. That's what we need to do.
Sacking yet another manager causes instability and hits our budget even further as no doubt we'll have to pay him off as well.
Also, I just looked it up, Brentford don't regularly fire their head coach. Just one change since 2015 and that was when Dean Smith left for Villa. So before this season they finished 11th last season, 9th before that, 10th & 9th. Not once did they sack their head coach. They just continued with their plan and bought wisely. That's what we need to do.
They are also not too afraid to sell their best players and reinvest. Recent departures : Maupay £20m. Konsa £12m. Yennaris £5m.
Yes they have to sell in order to stay within FFP, like ourselves. They have to use some of the money from their sales to replace the talent and manage to strengthen. Investing in talent on the rise like Maupay, Watkins & Benrahma is key.
We need to be able to do the same. We got away with selling an academy prospect (Appiah) last season so it didn't hit the first team, but this summer I suspect we'll have to sell (and replace for less) at least 1 first teamer.
All of which is why sacking the head coach is not the answer. We will need to sell to meet FFP now therefore we need an efficient recruitment team to target buys and loans, working to an overall team building plan. We have had a few successes this season but overall Modesto and Anigo have let us down, there appears little strategy in their dealings. They have not been good enough.
I would agree. Brentford have clear strategy. Our recruitment has felt random and scattergun - the January recruitment just smacked of desperation to get someone in. That usually never works well

Agree with that - the difference though is that expectations at the CG are somewhat different to those at Griffin Park.
Re Dyche - he might not come cheap re his ‘package’ but he is renowned for shopping where the value is.

It's the same as every time we sack a manager, if a proven championship manager is available eg Dyche (surely out of our league) or hughton, warnock, big sam etc then worth it otherwise stick. Suspect we'll end up with someone from abroad again and start all over again

Wonder if Calderwood would come back with Houghton?

Let me say now - I want him to stay!
But if EM decides to get rid then there are one or two decent solutions for once:
Hughton
Silva
Dyche ( I know flying high but... )

I think it will be Silva, he's available and is an EM favourite

My choices too, and I share the sentiment re Sabri.
I worry that Hughton's powers might be fading a little.

I thought he got Hull promoted and then did well at Watford? Or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?
