Great article about Watson from Paul Taylor yesterday. Well deserved praise for this season's player of the year.

i will always remember that 'tackle' against Luton
so often it just came down to players who were prepared to just totally commit and do whatever it takes his leadership and other not always pretty or even in the spirit of the game but ultimately neccessary and seemingly infinite contributions to get the points a big thank you Ben from me I hope he keeps watching that FA Cup winning moment constantly, something that might of given a player an excuse to take it easy, seems to of spurred him on, class moment, out thought and jumped £1billion worth of players and just come back from a broken leg

Player of the year? Not for me. Cash then Samba a long way ahead of the rest.
He's done well though, considering he looked done about 18 months ago.

His last few performances were a bit shakey to say the least. Cashy is my POTS with Ben a close second. They have both been consistent throughout the season and I think Mattys only bad game was just after he had come back from an illness if i recall.

I’m a subscriber to The Athletic & his articles are just as dishwater boring as were his efforts for the Post. The Athletic is great & thank God for Daniel Taylor but how the hell Tails got a job I’ll never know.

I don't remember any other player being at Forest who has managed to turn things around like Benny Watson has. He was written off by absolutely everyone including myself and he has rammed it all back down our throats. I suppose certain players just click with certain managers.

Arguably our player of the season with Cash. Certainly more consistent throughout than Samba.

Not everyone, there were games under Karanka where he was excellent, Middlesbrough away being one, and it was down to him that Yates was able to shine under MON.

ok, tackle of the season v Luton at home, ok, maybe not the tackle but the psychoanalytical hypnotic glance at the ref to stopping him blowing the whistle and not producing a red!

True but Sabi has got the very best out of him and the consistency as well.
