Great at the free kicks. I recall a Rangers fan saying, he's trouble. When Forest were after signing him from Celtic. So it came to pass. He put the prima into Donna.
Other than that Dave Bassett said it best on him. Campbell did all the donkey work for him. And outside of 'spot kicks' scored as many if not more in open play...?

I can think of other strikers than Stan that did a whole lot more for Forest.
And that's part of my reasoning. 'Raw naked' ability he had. But the 'best' ever striker for Forest? *shrugs.
For the same reason I won't give Pierre 'too much' credit.
I think 'character' comes into football, time served, what you actually won. Not 'just' ability.

I voted Joe Baker as he was a real team player, however it would have to be Stan the Man as he was a beast and in his prime while at Forest

I can't really comment on any of the pre-90's players, Nigel I have a semi-appreciation of but only ever saw live a handful of times.
So it goes without saying I voted for Stan. How different things could have been for both us & him if he'd decided to stay with us. If only we could all rewind back to 1995 knowing what we know now. Even though Stan had some good times at Liverpool, I'm pretty sure he'd much sooner have had a sliding door career at Forest in hindsight. There's no doubt in my mind that he would have gone on to be the English Ronaldo had he not been dragged down by the Spice Boy lifestyle.
Liverpool ruins everything it 'kin touches with it's vile taint.

I've gone for Stan, he could have played in any Forest team and scored plenty. He was big, strong and mad as a hatter.
