Joao Carvalho
It's a tough one though, because we're not gonna get anything for him anyway.

The real question is whether we'd make more money selling him further down the line or not, maybe hoping he'll hit a purple patch just before a transfer window.

We will but only if he goes to Olympiakos. Then we will get back what we paid.

If we've any chance of recouping the 13m we should sell him in a heartbeat.

I am expecting it to get done as soon as the window opens again if we don't go up.

I’m certainly not writing him off - but if we are forced to sacrifice one player at the altar of FFP then I guess Joao is the obvious candidate.

I agree TPL, provided we don't give him away for minimal amounts.

But if he was to go to Olympiacos, I don't think EM would expect us to just hand him over and would stipulate a decent fee for him

Now training apart from the main squad along with Adomah according to Tails.

He clearly has no future here under the current management. However ostracising him in this way does seem spiteful and wasteful. I still think both Carvalho and Adomah could contribute more than some who are apparently in favour.

Surly, there must be some reason that we are not aware of.

Suspect he’ll be back in the fold sooner than might be imagined.
But not for the right reasons...

It says for the build up to the match he was working away from the main squad in a smaller group. It doesn’t say how many were in that separate group, or if they are now back training together again post match. It’s a big squad so Sabri could have wanted to trim it down for match prep, which would be understandable.

Though Tayls only named Carvalho and Adomah explicitly in that group. So whilst it could be understandable, Tayls has described him as being ‘ostracised’. I guess he is delivering a message.

Can anyone interpret this?!

When asked how he saw Carvalho’s future, Lamouchi tells The Athletic: “This is for the club to think about but we know the situation. When we finish the game without certain kinds of players, we can think about this.” Asked if he had not been training with the first team, Lamouchi confirmed: “Yes, that is just an internal decision.”
