It probably won't happen but it wouldn't really surprise me if Woodgate was sacked before Monday. Boro are now fourth from bottom and level on points with Wigan who are third from bottom.

Didn't realise it was that bad for them.

Somebody has got to get relegated.  Boro can join Charlton for me.

I would say it's a great time to be playing them just like it was for us to play Cardiff.

I can't think of many examples of former players who were "heroes" returning to become successful managers. I suppose some would say that Keegan was one along with Dalglish and Venables but almost always it just doesn't work out well. We're sadly amongst those clubs who let the romance of hero worship overtake their strategic thinking. For sure there's more to a successful manager than him remembering how to play brilliantly.
