Retro Forest Photos
One or two of our legends looking a bit worse for wear here!

Nice photo though with the second European Cup in 1980.

Robbo looks about pissed but that was nothing unusual  :)

John McGovern was a brilliant water carrier whose contribution was vastly underestimated by many including our own fans. His passing was as quick as his football brain. It was incisive but simple so many thought not much of him. He should've captained Scotland many times.

An excellent summary of our under appreciated legend.

I remember one 'letter' to the Nottingham Post to 'Mr. Clough' about Forest's midfield and being critical of McGovern.

When John didn't play?  Forest didn't play.  As well.  He was the Fulcrum Shift of the Forest Legend side.

He was our own Captain Marvel.

There was a reason Clough had McGovern summoned from club to club as he moved around.  Derby, Leeds and Forest.  Did John play for Clough at Hartlepool?

Re: Scotland.  His face didn't fit.  I got the impression that the Scottish manager didn't like him.  For whatever reason.  And I think that cost Scotland.  He just had a blinkered mentality.  That's politics for you.

At least we had McGovern at his finest.  Two European Cups.  The League.  The League Cup.  The Charity Shield.

It was great to have somebody to stand up to that football bully Graeme Souness.   We 'done' L8verp00l.  It was nice to be the team to beat that stood in their way of tidal success.

Not sure the exact date, but you are probably right, Chris Crowe and John Barnwell along with Geoff Whitefoot are on photo.
